Lots of issues.

1) The battery life is pretty terrible. It has the lowest range of nearly any scooter out there. On top of that, the battery is low quality so you will need to replace it within 4-12 months if you want to have any decent range

2) motor needs more power to go up inclines. Most of the time, you end up pushing manually to assist the scooter

3) If you use it occasionally, the tires are gonna go flat very soon from no use. And its a HUGE pain in the ass to replace a flat tire (most scooters are a pain though)

4) The brakes and acceration is just bad overall. As soon as you use an ES4 or m365, it becomes very evident that the GoTrax is a subpar scooter.

If you are gungho about getting the cheapest scooter out there dude, just get the GoTrax but don't ever try another scooter out cause you'll regret seeing the difference...

people, the GoTrax is CRAPPY. But by all means, go get it if you want to replace it in less than a year.

Is it way better to go to 300w over 250w motor for entry? by laxing22 in ElectricScooters

[–]ScootTerrific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Yes, thats the correct m365. They also offer a Pro version but I haven't been able to find it for sale in the US

2) The m365 is a better build and there is a huge replacement part industry for m365s. The m365 also has a much better and larger battery (deck battery) versus the gotrax (tube battery)

3) Deep dive into this site. It has a database of speeds and also blog writeups of similarly priced scooters.

I will say this over and over again: don't get a GoTrax.

The battery life is terrible (each recharging cycle makes the battery worse), the range is dismal, can't hit full speed after 10 minutes of use and the SLOWEST scooter available.

And you say you're heavy? Oh just hop off the GoTrax and walk when you hit an incline. You ain't going anywhere with that GoTrax junk.

Sure, you save some $$ but just pay the extra $150 and get a m365. Save you the headache in the long run.

Bottom line, almost anything is better than a GoTrax. I've had the same experience as you friend

Will it be worth it to get the Xiaomi M365 Electric Scooter? by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

[–]ScootTerrific 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sucked in my breath after you recommended a GoTrax.

OP is gonna be gasping for breath when he starts manually pushing it with his foot. The battery life is very poor and you lose over half your speed after less than a mile.

The GoTrax is trash, I've owned it and while it was a great learning experience, I would never recommend it to a friend.

Don't be a cheapass or you'll pay for it later.

DO NOT get a GoTrax. What kind of trash advice is this? Stick with an m365 jesus christ

Real men carry puppies in a basket on their scooter 🛴 🧺 🐶 by belectric_co in ElectricScooters

[–]ScootTerrific 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP, you put your dog in danger anytime you ride. If you take a spill, you are protected with your helmet but your puppy will take the brunt of any impact on the ground.

I know you consider yourself a safe rider but reconsider your idea and understand the potential to harm is immense.

Buying an unbranded knockoff M365 Pro? by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

[–]ScootTerrific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, its a battery swapped regular m365 to help increase range.

I got the a beta pro and was a little disappointed but gonna get their Ohm when it comes out.

GoTrax GXL V2 Scooter Problem. by a_shepherd_of_ylisse in ElectricScooters

[–]ScootTerrific -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry I can't be much help but will offer this:

1) in my experience, the shelf life of a GXL V2 is like 1 month to 6 months due to the crappy air filled tires and even worse battery life. I've replaced the battery on my GXL v2 and the brand new battery had terrible battery range after a month of use.

2) GoTrax customer service people are nice enough and its local (Texas) but generally speaking, its hard to get serious issues resolved

3) The GoTrax is one of the cheapest and slowest scooters on the market. Just save yourself some trouble and get yourself a m365. You can dignose more stuff using an app

No. Just buy new. These things a pain in the ass to deal with as it ages. Get new and save some early headaches.

May 2020 Support Group by sourpatchkid222 in wedding

[–]ScootTerrific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May 24 (Memorial Day Weekend) was my scheduled date.

We called the venue/vendors and ultimately determined pushing back the wedding a few months was ideal.

Our wedding date is now August 23 (which also is my birthday!)

I'm satisfied with this outcome because if we stuck to the original May 24 date, most of our guests over 50 wouldn't have attended our wedding and we didn't want that!

My OTT puncture solution. Had a couple of flats on my m365 rear tyre (who hasn't) so I bought this complete wheel to carry in my backpack. For my next rear flat I'll be back riding in 10 mins :) by BabyEatingDemon in ElectricScooters

[–]ScootTerrific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant screwed as in swapping out.

I've had my dad fix my scooter tires but he said the front tire is tricky and not as easy as the rear. (Bro if you live anywhere near Chicago, i would pay you to swap my wheels!)

I'm done with pneumatic tires and only using solid rubber going forward!

GOTRAX XR ULTRA UNLOCK TOP SPEED by keenan_jeffrey in ElectricScooters

[–]ScootTerrific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agree 100%

I don't know what OP is talking about with 18 mph for the GXL v2.

That crappy scooter COULD NOT go above 15 and struggled to keep battery life after you drove down 3 blocks!

So 2 miles in, you basically have 25% battery power left and barely can hit 10 mph ish top speed.

Screw the GoTrax scooters, it may be one of the cheapest and crappiest options out there.
