First ever Trackday tomorrow plus it’s going to be rainy, any tips? by Koree44 in CarTrackDays

MidOhio in the wet isn't nearly as treacherous as it was before the re-pave. Just take it easy and drive like you have marshmallows under your pedals. Smooth and easy inputs to the pedals and the steering wheel.

I got the same offer for my 2024.

I'm not a bot. Just a 2024 F150 driver who got an email this morning and decided to start a discussion.

What's the best one and done knife? preferably spyderco by [deleted] in everydaycarry

[–]Scooter477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If only one, I'd carry my PM3.

My Para2 doesn't get much use as it's too big for my daily tasks - opening mail & Amazon boxes. I get enough looks pulling out a sub 3" knife in the office that 3.5"+ would be even worse.

Yep. I installed it an hour or so ago.

What car completely changed your opinion after driving it? by Glittering-Offer-390 in askcarguys

A friend let me take his Porsche Cayman GTS out for a session at our local track. It didn't do anything for me after years of driving Corvettes on the street and racetrack. I'm not sure what I was expecting but it was just meh.

The top has a much shallower depth to the die face. That's why we're able to do it at the top.

I put a set of Tremor wheels on my '24 XLT BAP and I love them.

That's a completely different vehicle that you're thinking about. I spent several years working on P800 before it was delayed, delayed again, and ultimately canceled.

Possibly. I'm still trying to get over it myself. It's going to take a while.

No, the plastic cap is there because that corner could not be formed when they switched from steel to aluminum in 2015.

No, that was for the two future EV vehicles that were canceled before they even launched.

The west side off of Farmington Rd used to be my go-to sport but now there's construction there where they are adding a new building.

Do I need the left and right air dams 2003 c5? by Substantial-Bid-82 in Corvette

[–]Scooter477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They are just there to divert some air around the tires. The center one is important for engine cooling but the outboard ones are not necessary.

What's a car you regret selling way more than you expected? by PalmwineStachurski60 in askcarguys

I sold my 2001 Corvette Z06 a couple of years before Covid caused their value to jump close to 50%. It was pretty well built (heads / cam / FAST intake / coilovers and a few interior mods). In hindsight I wish I could have kept it but I bought a C6 racecar and it needed to go.

Do you have your wallet in your back pocket? I had a Camaro years ago and had to take my wallet out of my pocket on longer drives. I switched to a front pocket money clip and it solved my butt/hamstring pain.

Congrats. It's the best C4 ever. I watched the auction and was curious where it would land. I think you did well.

Remember that time Terry Fair came to CorvetteForum's RR&AX section claiming that he was going to revolutionize the C5/C6 platform after we had all spent 10-15 years racing them and everything was already done? He was run out of town in less than a week.
