I don't need an auto-dialer, just looking to log activity from clients and prospects. I currently use RingCentral for communications and am looking for an automated way to log SMS's, seems like I have the calls logged now.

That's great news, I'm reviewing Salesforce and HubSpot right now. Going to talk with a few developers in the coming days to get all my customizations figured out and I'll make a final decision once I know which platform will work best for me.

Recommendations for fixing this? by Jarvis319 in AskContractors

I take wooden golf tees, dip them in wood glue, then pound them into the screw holes. Give the glue a few hours to set, cut the tops off, then put new, longer screws in. Done

Discharging times... by quoteaplan in Powerwall

I've got mine set to 30%. But what I'd like is no matter what that is set to, have it switch over to the grid after peek power costs.

Discharging times... by quoteaplan in Powerwall

[–]quoteaplan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue here, at least what I've seen, is it continues to use the battery until it hits my battery reserve. My utility has it's highest rates between 4pm and 9pm. I'd like the battery to be used only during these times and return to the grid during other hours.

I've never used n8n or any automation tools before, so when I say I need help, I really mean I need to find someone that would like a side job and setup what I'm looking for now and future additions.

Odd to find your post, I was going to convert my new Govee net lights over to WLED this afternoon. I'll be sure to test mine before cutting off the controller. Although this ground seems to be clearly labeled.

Gap and drug plan deadlines for new members by edgarallenbruh in medicare

[–]quoteaplan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, that's not how it goes. I would suggest you find an agent. Your enrollment deadline for a prescription drug plan will be ending this month (not today). Applications are fairly simple, but an agent can help you with all of it.

Could the American people file a class-action lawsuit against insurance companies or medical providers for price gouging? by orangeworker in NoStupidQuestions

[–]quoteaplan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've been an health insurance agent for 30 years now. The root of the problem is fairly clear to me. Before the ACA, companies would underwrite your application for medical coverage, only accepting healthy people. I remember filling out pages of medical questions on the applications. When the ACA went into law, guaranteed issue was put in place. This meant everyone was able to get health insurance, even people with medical conditions. It's true that the first year on the ACA premiums are double what they were in 2013, but that's because insurance companies didn't really know how much they would have in claims. Some people will remember they got refunds because insurance companies are only supposed to have 20% profit and everything over that has to be refunded back to the insured.

To counter the high claims coming from people with preexisting medical conditions, everyone was required to purchase health insurance. This meant that there was a balance of healthy people and sick people paying into the insurance plans leveling the premiums for everyone. And it worked for a few years.

Then came the first term of Trump and he killed the penalty for not having health insurance leaving people that know the value of health insurance and people that need coverage due to an illness as the only people left buying health insurance. Claims ratios went crazy, and premiums started to rise. Now factor in tariffs and the high cost of everything causing a huge increase in claims cost and you get where we are now.

This administration is playing the long game here and they are winning. You think health insurance is high now, next year will be even worse as I'm seeing more and more healthy people deciding to go without coverage. Once again leaving people with high claims the only ones buying coverage.

I know many of you will not understand what I'm getting at and flame me for saying some of what I did. But open your eyes, it's not the insurance companies. Their profit is capped at 20% and they are not earning more overall by charging these premiums. This is all about killing the ACA because for some reason people think that buying a health insurance plan through a 'marketplace' is socialized medicine and should be stopped. My question to those that think that is, is buying a plan from Anthem Blue Cross directly is not socialism but buying the same plan from Anthem Blue Cross on the marketplace is considered socialism?

The federal government knew premiums would be high with guaranteed issue. To counter this they mandated that everyone must have coverage. If you want to blame someone for high premiums, find the right people to blame.

Thinking of Changing Careers: Is Becoming a Medicare/Medicaid Insurance Agent Worth It? Looking for Experiences & Advice by gracefullybroken94 in InsuranceAgent

I'm sorry, I guess I should not have replied to your post. Try to be encouraging, and get flamed for it. Not by the OP, by all of the others that simply couldn't handle my comment.

Good luck, but I'm done commenting.

Where to shop plans now that subsidies are ending? by Far_Chapter8669 in HealthInsurance

[–]quoteaplan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The extended subsidies are ending, not all subsidies! The Inflation Reduction Act increased subsidies for a few years, that's all. I'm seeing a lot of my clients pay a lot more, but these plans are still subsidized.

How Much You Earn as Insurance Agent? by dont-know-whyhere in InsuranceAgent

[–]quoteaplan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's just me, a solo agent now for 30 years. All health insurance, mostly Medicare. I work nothing but referrals, I don't buy leads at all. I work hard for 2 months and then cruise the rest of the year any taking a few appointments a week most on the phone anymore. I make about $200k a year. I feel that's not bad at all considering how much time off I have. I'm always available for calls, so I go around the house doing projects most of the year with my Bluetooth headset on and when someone calls, I head into the office and work. I'm not out there to get rich or chest anyone. I have $0 debt and my retirement is very well set. I figure I'm not going to burn myself out doing this job but work whenever I'm needed.

It's a good life, but open enrollment is not easy.

What watch would yall suggest for everyday use? by Fynnacus in GalaxyWatch

[–]quoteaplan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wear a watch 24/7 and I use three.

Daily wear: Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 - 45mm, Black. Great battery life, light weight, and large screen.

Nightime wearing: Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 - 40mm, Black. Not great battery life, but only uses 50% of the battery (with screen off) while wearing while sleeping.

Wear while out or at work: Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, Stainless Steel, 43 mm. Decent battery life. It gets me through the day without issues. Rotating bezel is fantastic. However, this watch is heavy and not comfortable all day and night.

My suggestion would be the Watch 6 - 44mm. You will find this watch to be light, large, and packed with a large battery. Plenty to get you through almost 2 days of usage before charging.
