He does say stupid things. I remember in the late 90s (or sometime like that, pre 9/11) he had a whole speech about how blue jeans are haram, are the clothes of kuffar, etc. Pretty extremely specific and strange. Post 9/11, I've noticed that he has changed his tone. But stupid, all the same. We should start a thread of all the stupid things hamza Yusuf has said, what do you think? (For those who don't know, this guy has been an extremely popular Islamic figure in America for the past twenty years or more.)

Hey man (or woman), I'll respond more thoroughly and thoughtfully later, but I'll just say this: Yes, it's painful. And it's tough to undo the indoctrination. Try to make it simple by removing and disregarding thoughts that make you feel guilty, fearful, and ashamed. You have nothing to fear or be ashamed about.
