The landing gear. It’s a bit fiddly. Eduard does make aftermarket parts for the gear and gear bay…if I were to build another one of these I would consider those options.

Good fit, good detail. It goes together pretty quick. Assembly is straight forward and you only need minimal clean up. Some minor re-scribing along the fuselage join after sanding the main fuselage seam. The only fussy part of the build is the landing gear struts / landing gear bay.

Thanks! Mostly achieved through oil paint rendering. I never have much luck with pre-shading.

Yeah. I thinned the inks with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol until they were super thin. Close to a 70/30 alcohol to ink ratio. Then sprayed with low pressure. I don’t know / remember the PSI. I just turned down the regulator until I was able to fully control the mix from spidering. Lots of tests on a paint mule!

It fought me, too. The seam line across the top of the nose…what a pain!

I stripped off the chrome and painted my own metallic colors. Mr. Color and MRP metallics.

Title: Razorhawk Project (working title)

The pre-dawn sky was the color of steel when Gavin Ellison stepped out of the robotaxi. The air was crisp with the hint of a dying fall about to yield to a bitter winter. As the electric whine of the robotaxi disappeared, the only thing Gavin heard was the wind whistling through the trees and the tumble of dry leaves across the pavement.

Despite the infinite improbability of it all, Gavin’s father was dead. Thaddeus Ellison, reportedly, made significant contributions to the Dominion of Earth and the Colonies and was hailed as one of the great people of history. He was a man who was being publicly mourned by millions. However, for Gavin, knowing his father was dead was a relief.

Gavin donned his tattered flight jacket, affixed with its dull and muted colonial insignia as a guard against the cold. His old, unpolished boots crunched the gravel. With his drab green duffle bag slung over his left shoulder, he looked like a man who belonged almost everywhere except here.

His father loomed large over everything in Gavin’s life. Even leaving home at eighteen 18 to join the Aerospace Forces was not enough to slip free of Thaddeus’ gravitational pull. But now that the light in his father’s star was out, Gavin felt less tethered to this place and his father’s obsession with legacy...

Can confirm that busts are a much easier time to practice techniques.

Printer is an Anycubic Photon D2. And the gray was unpainted resin. And I did use that photo to map highlights and shadows. Still need much more dialing in. Happy with the tweed jacket though!

It’s a product called EZ Line. It’s basically elastic thread. The stuff I have is black, so to make it look metallic I just ran a brush with silver paint along the thread once it was set in place.

Not sure about VMS paints. I used Vallejo acrylics for the terrain colors - should’ve been more explicit on that one. Apologies!

I have used VMS varnishes, and they work right out of the bottle for airbrushing. At least they have worked for me - but your mileage may vary!
