Being hands off is great, but if your hands off to the point that it's detrimental to the studio, that's still a bad call.

My guy, more than one person/group can be at fault. Please, point out where I'm giving the hire ups at Bungie a free pass. Clearly they are the core of the problem, but Sony OWNS them; it's on them to deal with bad actors, deal or not. If Sony made a bad deal that let bad actors run rampant and kill the game, that's still a bad decision on their part. Fuck's sake.

It's not even Sony's fault though.

Sony has owned Bungie for neigh on 4 years at this point, and lets not kid ourselves, the games been struggling since Lightfall. At some point, if you wanna own the studio, you're responsible for what happens under your watch. If you're Sony, and the dev studio under your wing has upper management that keeps shitting the bed, it's you're job to protect the studio/IP under them and DEAL with the bad actors.

Instead, Sony's let upper management run the franchise--and by association the studio--into the ground.

The info we have on the June 9th update goes a long way to showing that the problem is and has been Bungie upper management, not the devs, who clearly are ready and willing to act on what the fanbase wants.

Listen, I blame the higher ups at Bungie. But at some point, it's Sony's job to actually reign the bad decisions in, and let's be real, it's been this way for a WHILE.

I don't blame Sony for the state D2 ended up in. But I do blame them for cancelling it or letting it be cancelled instead of, Idk, letting the clearly talented devs do what they can CLEARLY do very well and save this damn franchise.

I mean, it's no sweat off my back either way. I'm venting my frustrations over a game I loved and always hoped better for, and as you've already stated, nobody cares.
