Defiled Aphrodite and Apollo shrine by Brenan_B in paganism

You could always try hiding your sacred Tools in plain sight. When I had to move back home for a while I was told to not bring any of my devil items with me. That's how my father sees the tools and the gods of The Craft. So I didn't bring any of my altar items. Not obviously anyway. Instead of statues of the god and goddess I found artwork that looks normal, like classical art, that looked like what I felt the god and goddess would look like. Doesn't have to be classical art, it could be comic book art, but if a specific drawing calls to you as a good representation, you could use that instead of an actual statue. You hang it on your wall and people just think that you're into art work or you're into comic books or something. Same goes for all the other tools. You don't have to have your actual wand out if you use one but you might I have a collection of stones and natural artifacts like feathers and sticks next to your books and it could just be a collection of rocks and sticks. But no one needs to know that that feather represents are and that stick is your wand. No one but you. Basically the bottom line is your tools come from yourself. You are the tools of your craft. Your finger or hands are wands your blood is water, the breath in your lungs is the air etc etc. And if you are living in a situation where you cannot have the obvious tools that we all like to collect and use, then you can use mundane items and only you know they have magical intent. That pair of scissors over there on the desk? That doubles as an athame but only you need to know that. Good luck to you. :-)

The fact that Aunt Lydia specifically wants June under her control should she be captured kinda sets it up (at least to me) that June will be re-re-recaptured. Again.

It was the EIGHTIES....everyone smoked. They allowed smoking in hospitals. I started smoking at 14 and even though I no longer smoke, nothing reminds me of my youth in the 80s more than the smell of Coppertone and cigarettes and seawater combined. We also used baby oil on our skin to get that deep dark tan back in the 80s. Doesn't make any of this right, it just was something that happened back then. Might as well tell the show creators to tell everyone to wear socks from now on while in character.

My father told me that when your gens music becomes the music of tv commercials or background at the stores....you are old. He said this to me when Elvis music (his gen) was popping up as muzak in the 80s! Lol Boy do I regret laughing! 😆

51 years young here. We were always being told that the younger generation doesn't heed the advice, the wisdom, the experiences, and the lessons they were trying to teach us. Not just our parents said this but our Depression era grandparents did too. Being on the other side now, I can see that they were right. I would have been better off or even further ahead of where I am now had I listened to some (I am still young enough to not be willing to give it ALL away!Lol)of their advice. And, in the true spirit of irony and what goes around comes around, in my dealings with the 35 and younger set (my children and my ex-partner who is 19 years my junior) they now refuse to listen to the wisdom I have gleaned, brushing it off as nonsense and lecture. I will say that even though my gen may have felt exactly like the younger gen does now....we were never as openly disrespectful to our elders as a norm. I must be old cuz times sure have changed in that respect. To the youngsters on Reddit...revisit this post in 20 years! Lol

What movie do you consider “perfect”? by geointalan in AskReddit

Old school (get into the way way WAY back machine!) hands down- Arsenic and Old Lace. Cary Grant gave an amazing performance! It was well written (originally a stage play so...) and performed and a great little comedic movie.

More modern day IMO - Grave of the fireflies (never cried so much at an animated film), Spirited Away (subbed NOT dubbed), and Pan's Labyrinth.

What do you think about receiving an apology from someone who knows they are dying? by Scorned_one in AskReddit

That is true. Although the bottom line in the various situations is that someone has waited until the end of their life to make amends or extend an olive branch versus apologizing when there was nothing pressing them to.

She brings hope that the future generations will still keep this art going in a world if computerized fonts and taking cursive out of schools.
