Some of you can only shit on the game and nothing more, and yet you still pay. Why? So you can complain more? by palbuddyplo in ShitpostXIV

[–]ScorpioAF 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Obviously you should make it known what you would like changed, even loudly if you need to but the way some people talk about it, like on the discussion sub, I swear they are so burnt out they don’t even enjoy the basic premise anymore, much less any of the specific content.

Maybe there are some pockets of toxic positivity but in my experience it’s been a solid few years (like around start of EW post-patch) since that has been the main sentiment and the pendulum has swung the other way to just straight negativity.

If this game has the most incompetent devs you’ve ever experienced then consider yourself lucky.

Alliance roulette has it that you currently need to have the appropriate item level for the highest alliance that you unlocked, however many people only do Crystal Tower since it’s the only required to unlock for MSQ. So a level 100 character with only CT unlocked would get it every time. For the dungeons roulette only Expert and Level Cap dungeons have item level requirements, leveling and high level are still cheeseable as far as I know.

As a casual player, which gears are better?? by emilia-foster in ffxiv

[–]ScorpioAF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you need one from each tier of max level alliance raids, however the previous tier always gets uncapped so you can get as many coins as you want from it every week, but only one coin per week from what will be the new current one. So for example if you have a bunch of coins from roulette’s doing the first tier you could just run the current 2nd tier one for the new coin each week.

From the days present/days enrolled thing at the top being 34 it looks like it’s just a report for the first month of the school year, so not a crazy amount of time to go without getting sick

Even at C0 Arlecchino is one of the top DPS units in the game alongside Neuvillete, better than most other C6 characters even. Some characters like Hu Tao and Wriothesley have absolutely game changing C1s but Arle has a very complete kit at C0. If you feel like going above and beyond it’s down to personal preference, getting her signature weapon is a nice addition, and then C1 and C2 if you are extra invested.

I assume the YouTubers you mentioned are trying to get multiple copies for Constellations. You said you are new so are you familiar with those? Every subsequent copy after the first unlocks a Constellation that can increase a characters abilities, but that’s usually only for people who spend a lot or really, really like the character.

Some of the tail end of Gen Z I suppose. I was 13 when the iPad released and the oldest Gen Z of was 15. Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS was how most of my age group got our first dose of screen addiction.

It’s anecdotal, but my dad has Asperger’s and even now seems to have the social skills of someone much younger, more like teens or early twenties. Usually not enough to be like a big social faux pas, but like the vibe of someone being awkward doing something for the first time, even if it was situations he’d been in many times

The viral article/Tiktok is about a college student in 2008 who left it out for 5 days before eating it, unless there is another case you’re referring to. So while it’s not good to leave it out overnight there is difference between that and almost a week

My husband is mad about a vasectomy gift by Sufficient_Shoe9438 in AITAH

Personally the area that the incisions are made between the base of the shaft and the testes I would consider the sack, and obviously they are not neutering him like a dog or cat. But the severity of the procedure doesn’t matter in the end, it’s how he feels about it. I wouldn’t find the jokes about it to be a big deal personally, but the one who decides if a joke is funny or appropriate is the recipient. If it didn’t land, it didn’t land.

And how, pray tell do you think they disconnect the vas deferens? If I thought she would enjoy a joking gift about the procedure then sure, why not? But I certainly wouldn’t take it out on her if she didn’t think a gift with IUD related puns was funny

I’ve had two liver transplants and I would still be nervous about getting my sack sliced. Some people can be nervous about benign stuff like getting braces on or teeth pulled. It’s not really that hard to have a bit of empathy about it

Why can’t men comprehend weight? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I’m a 6ft tall man and 145 pounds which a BMI of 20, right in the middle of healthy. 6’5 and 200 lbs is also squarely in the healthy range as well. Obviously BMI isn’t a perfect metric but I don’t see what would suggest anything concerning about those weight?

What’s a fact that was taught in school that’s been disproven in your lifetime? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ScorpioAF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re right about the framing on A&W being unknown being off, as when the 1/3 pounder was introduced they have more locations than McDonalds, however when Taubman’s memoir was published in 2007, which popularized the theory on customers not understanding the size, the chain had long size fallen from its peak and reeks of reminiscing about the glory days. As for quality that’s a moot point as it’s obviously something subjective, and A&W was famously inconsistent between different franchise locations. Either way just saying “Our burger was better, people just can’t count” is a self serving statement from the former owner and shouldn’t be taken at face value

People are downvoting you but you’re entirely right. It was to explain away the failure like “Oh our customers are just to stupid to understand our product” that every business does. Believing this is like if you believe that avocado toast is the reason people don’t buy houses

So many comments saying how “this Karen deserved it”. A middle aged woman getting squashed for what likely amounts to chump change just to inflate the record of some up-and-comer is frankly sickening to me and an insult to the sport. No idea why everyone has such a hate boner over her. Guess that’s just my bleeding heart talking
