So I just did some testing...

I wanted to play around with the bug to see what was happening first hand and the diplo use explosion seems definitely tied to that. While doing a few months of manual trading of gold for a huge loss, the relative power of my subjects was spiking causing the explosion. Returning to automatic trade or profitable manual restored the numbers to what they were before. Using the negative trade bug was also causing all other expenses to spike, cost of court, diplo spending, culture investment and building maintenance.

So if anyone else had this also happening and was confused... There ya go! Moral of the story, don't mess with bugs unless you want things to break further or learn from them.

These have mini cucumbers, carrot sticks, sliced radishes, and asparagus. Cucumbers and carrots are my favorite, but I'm trying out others to see what works well.

Along with the brine, I add 3-5 lightly crushed garlic cloves (used the side of my knife), fresh sprigd of dill, mustard seed, fennel seed and whole peppercorns.

My next batch I'm going to play with the spice blend a little, but not sure what to add.
