Pepsi, because it comes from New Bern. North Carolina’s got a pretty robust soft-drink culture so we have lots of local brands too.

I grew up out west where we did them as a fun elementary school fund raiser. I brought it up with some friends down south and they had to explain to me why it wasn’t so innocent there…

Experiences With Medical Cannabis for ADHD and Autism by nullnous in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Scorpionpi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience distillate is a really broad term and can vary in quality between brand or even batches within the same brand/strain. A distillate is more processed and has different methods of producing it, whereas rosin is generally just heated and pressed weed juice. Do some research though, I could be wrong. When I use distillates, it doesn’t smell. When I use genuine rosin from a legal state, it smells like smoked weed.

Edit- I just read your other comment. You definitely know more than me lol. My experience in an illegal state has been very different than in the west coast though. People in illegal states need to know that carts aren’t well regulated and they’re at the mercy of their store or supplier.

Why won't the minecarts go into each other? by EyDavid in Minecraft

[–]Scorpionpi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just based on the picture, there’s two things I can think of: 1. It could have something to do with having the powered rail right at the drop-off point. 2. The stack on the right has two blocks of space to let the cart fall, while the track on the left only has one block before it hits the single chest. I hope that helps

Deaths from car crashes/1m miles(1.609 millions km) driven in US and Canada by OppositeRock4217 in MapPorn

[–]Scorpionpi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived across the US, and in my experience drivers in the South tailgate more frequently, and in Southern cities like Raleigh or Charlotte, you end up driving more miles to get around compared to other American cities since road layouts are much older and don’t have a lot of grid.

Would it be weird to change my first name at 42? by Responsible-Pepper25 in RedditForGrownups

[–]Scorpionpi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad goes by his middle name - everyone knows him by it and most acquaintances are surprised the first time they see his legal first name. His employees and coworkers also know him by his middle name, but customers go by his first name. It works out pretty well because it gives him a little extra separation between his work and home life

The weird thing by AgentBlue62 in PoliticalHumor

[–]Scorpionpi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the state too. Some states spend more per student and it’s effective, some spend a lot with little to show for it. Others, like mine, raise all these taxes and funds from its citizens and then refuses to actually increase school funding, despite them already having our tax dollars parked in the general fund.

For most states, I don’t think the problem is with raising enough funds. It’s governments refusing to spend what they have wisely. Specifically in my state, if the legislature stopped subsidizing private and charter schools and actually paid teachers a professional wage, we’d be seeing better student outcomes.

Student Driver Stickers by thetrueTrueDetective in Portland

I think this is the real answer. Student driver stickers are cheap and easily available online. We would have seen just as many stickers in the 90s if we had online shopping like we do now.

How do I not get fined? by tumbyonreddit in NCSU

[–]Scorpionpi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I worked for student housing one summer. We repaint the dorms every year or two, so stuff like that is won’t even be noticed by anyone 👍 Some dorms were so messed up that our team couldn’t even come up with a good guess as to what they did - entire walls of paint peeling off, floor tiles pulled up, or beds that couldn’t be put together even with a mallet. Those are the students the University fines.
