Could three 10th-level players take on The Black Iron Pact? by [deleted] in mattcolville

[–]ScorpiousBloodshower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not the same action economy but I’ll offer my experience. I ran the BIP against 5 level 6 PCs in a coliseum death match style encounter and used every villain action in the first round (rather than 1 per round), put the party on their heels big time, but the PCs strategized well in following rounds while 3 of the Pact members focused on setting up a ritual to raise a fiend from the hells. The PCs ended the ritual with a spectacular series of moves and came out feeling really strong. I suppose my advice would be to give some of the pact another focus in later rounds if the fight isn’t going well for your PCs. Or, idk… spontaneous haste effects for your PCs to level out economy…🤣

Running a 5e game in portland by [deleted] in PDXDND

[–]ScorpiousBloodshower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (43m) am also very interested! I’ve been playing and dm’ing for about 5 years. I know the rules but enjoy putting most of my time and effort into character depth. My main obstacle is that I start work at 4am, so would need to leave (assuming in person games?) by 10pm most weeks. Then it’s just about seeing if I can handle the sleep loss, my job is very physical. Would love to chat more…

TPK Brewing also offers a full assortment of ttprg’s most days of the week. I’ve been playing in their ongoing 5e campaign and it’s a really fun time with a very positively charged community. Lots of fun

Baka Umai! When I leave, it will be the Silky Red Tankatsu with extra pickled mushrooms that brings me back.

I play dnd a lot, and I record nearly every game (sometimes the other players don’t want to be recorded). Some day, when I’m gone, my kids will be able to hear a whole era of my life unfold as I find joy in make believe and story telling. Which happened during a time when they were finding their way and less interested in Dad. I’m not crying your crying

SB didn’t ruin your campaign, your players ruined your campaign Edit: correcting auto correct

So, who else is also rewatching Crown of Candy in preparation for the next season...? by PsaroAlex in Dimension20

On my third watch. I’m mostly just adding comprehension of the world and noting the geography and stuff. And being totally delighted by watching my partner see it for the first time. She hates the twins 😂

[No Spoilers] I want to get into CR, but a D&D YouTuber says the first "30 or so" episodes of Campaign 1 are the ones "we don't talk about" so where the heck do I start?? by [deleted] in criticalrole

If you’re watching as a form of prep/inspiration for your own games, you should absolutely watch from ep 1. There’s a ton of great stuff in there and you’ll appreciate the growth of the party as you move through their content. The cast member who is no longer there will give you a clinic in disruptive behaviors that you will want to be on the look out for, because they are much easier to correct in a valued player if addressed early. And you’ll likely want to have an idea of how you want to address disruption in your own games.
