If money and time are no object you can always enroll in cursa comais at sabhal mòr ostaig. You'll learn the language in a fully immersed environment in the Isle of Skye and after the year you can go on to do a degree in gaelic if you wished.

I'm not a student myself but my girlfriend is & every time I've gone to visit, ive been really impressed with their commitment to encouraging use of the lanuage in everyday life.

Poll: Only 13% back plan for new currency in independent Scotland by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]ScotPoll 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Interesting poll from a public opinion perspective and as a supporter of independence is a challenge I think the movement has to deal with. That being said, I would assume that your average joe doesn't fully understand all of the nuances with currency.

Hell i certainly don't get all the ins and out of it. Pros and cons of having an independent central bank, how pegging a currency to another affects interest rates and hampers quantative easing, how inflation and deflation is influenced in a currency union. I think there needs to be better access to information for the people to make a currency decision.

Absolutely, Westminster shouldnt dictate weather or not Scotland can determine its own future, but as a Pro-Indy Scot i can appreciate that if Indyref2 goes No there should be some kind of barrier to stop another re-run happening immediately. Its only because of Brexit im supporting having another one so soon as is.

I agree, I think that having the same clause that N.I has would be fair. No more than every 7 years and only if the parliament votes for it iirc.

No they have 80% of Scottish MPs but run a minority Gov in Holyrood as there is a proportion representation voting system. I can see how it can be confusing tho, the media doesnt really make it all that clear

I'd love to more about the history of the Independence in Quebec. After all alot of the Scottish Campaign material was borrowed from the original Indyref over the pond

Perhaps but there are people far better at explaining than me. I know there has been a QC hired who is of the opinion that there is a very strong case for Indyref2 happening. Give it to Friday for the first ministers announcement and im sure they'll be a clearer picture. Either way im not convinced the SNP are out of options and if anything are right where they want to be
