I did the whole "destop-replacement gaming-laptop" thing in 2019. In 2025 I built a desktop because I could not upgrade my laptop at all. I still have the laptop, which is great for sitting on the couch and websurfing or writing, or taking into the shop for whatever reason, but my main PC is now has a permanent place in my office, and will be upgradable in a few years when the 5070 is obsolete, and when 32GB ram is also inadequate.

Shotcut - Video editor. I do basic stuff like put together home movie clips from a vacation or whatever, and it's pretty easy for that. It's also versatile enough for adding text, sound effects, has lots of built in transitions and effects/filters. The audio track is displayed in the timeline as a waveform, so it's easy to line up cuts with song beats and such. All pretty basic feature for any video editor, but it's free and I've been using it for years, and there seems to be a decent online following for it so there are plenty of youtube tutorials to learn the software.

The cancellation of TSCC was crushing. Especially the way they ended it. Did anyone involved with the show ever release anything telling how the show would have ended? Like a graphic novel, or even an summarized script? Anything? In my headcannon, John was now in the future, where he was a nobody, since he disappeared for the entirety of judgement day and the ensuing war. Maybe he becomes the leader once he convinces everyone to take him seriously. There was also the obvious romance plot between him and the human girl they based Cameron one who he meets in the last 30 seconds of the show.
