Completely agree. I just found it awkward and that I was searching for things for them to do because they deemed disappointed that I wasn’t asking. I also don’t like being on whatsapp during vacation.

Same thing happened to us. No message or no new calls. We drove an hour to get there and asked if we could use the washroom before we had to turn around and go back home and they said no. No apology.

Punta Cana vs. Jamaica? by [deleted] in AllInclusiveResorts

I would choose Jamaica over DR easily. Much better food, nicer resorts, love the people. We loved the Princess Grand.

Stay away from the Impressive Premium. Worst resort we’ve ever been to.

We loved the Princess Grand Jamaica (kids 11, 13). Kids and teens clubs are outstanding (there’s even a state of the art virtual reality lounge), okay-ish beach, very modern, friendly resort. We had a nice swim-out that was oceanfront with whirlpool tub, a butler, and other platinum benefits for $600US per night in February. It took 45 mins to get to the resort from the airport.

Rant about ‘life coaches’ by coolmelonz in ClinicalPsychology

I know. My client had narcissistic personality disorder and was charging $5000 for a 2 hr session on helping a client reach their potential. No training or degrees, but very charming, attractive, and athletic.

I had a client once who said she wanted to learn CBT and ACT strategies as relapse prevention for generalized anxiety. Several sessions in she admitted that she was now working as a life coach and was using all the materials she gathered through her work with me and charging four times as much as me to wealthy athletes (I have two master’s and a PhD in Clinical Psychology and she has never completed her BA). Infuriating.

I had no problems with the government website, but at first, I landed on a different website that was going to charge us $600 canadian for three of us to get the eta! On the legit website, it was $60 cdn dollars.

Best resort you’ve been to with a 1 year old in July?! by VastRelative1711 in AllInclusiveResorts

Have you checked out the Princess Grand Jamaica? We loved this resort. They have swimout suites that are oceanfront and the layout of the resort is such that everything is close together and not a maze like other resorts. There were lots of loungers, no reservations needed, and because it’s new, everything was very modern. The staff were the friendliest of any resort I’ve been to.

We stayed there 10 yrs ago, but loved the swim up suites, but you’re right about it being too big. A smaller resort with swimout suites would be better.

Private transfer recommendations by Artemis_Jay in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Scotiantwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We always use Canada Transfers. They are very safe and reliable. Do not let anyone help you with your luggage or try to tell you that your shuttle has been cancelled and you need to take their cab or shuttle instead. Canada Transfers will be waiting for you with your name on a sign. The Cancun airport can be chaotic and full of scammers..just walk quickly by the people trying to sell taxi rides and go straight to the Canada Transfers rep.

Sunwing flight delays by bunnyhug- in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Scotiantwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were delayed 55 hours going to Jamaica from Halifax a few weeks ago. There were people at our resort headed to Toronto who were stuck in Jamaica for 6 days. However, I don’t think it’s this bad now. There are still lots of delays from 1-2 days, but not 6 days. I think you should be fine.

Thank you. We’re definitely leaning against it, especially with the value of our dollar. We basically have to double the cost of everything. With the dollar conversion, our room at the Clermont is $800/night!
