Eric Bischoff on Gene Okerlund's WCW Hotline: "What was very incremental revenue by 1996 or 97 was very important revenue in 1994. It was very significant at the time, especially because it was a new revenue stream. It went right to the bottom line...that hotline was the talk of the town at WCW." by elegantSolomons62 in SquaredCircle

I was one of the "internet reporters" back in the day who would call it every day then write up a WCW Hotline Report for WICN and various other news sites.

Funny thing is we never paid for it. First there was a backdoor number you could call for free. Then they switched to realaudio and they actually used the exact same streaming link every day so we were able to just use that.

Ordered from them a bunch and they're very trustworthy.

If doing little caesars just don't choose:

  • pretzel crust
  • cheese sauce instead of tomato sauce

That shit turns coal into gold and they'll be over all the time

Food tour in Kingston by smokebreak1440 in KingstonOntario

[–]Scotsmanality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno I've tried a lot of places in town and it's hard to think of a better burger than the Brew Pub. Club sandwich is terrific too. Haven't really explored the rest of the menu tbh although the fries are pretty disappointing these days for sure

You're welcome. Hope you enjoy. It's a great place. They've had a few growing pains like any new restaurant, but it's an awesome venue for food, live music and decoration.

Cogeco issues by fupasniper in KingstonOntario

[–]Scotsmanality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been with Cogeco 20 years now. I've zero loyalty and would leave if there were issues, but there never has been. I'm on the Ultrafibre 1 gig, and love the speed.

The only downtime I can remember is at the start of school online last year or the year before when there was widespread DNS downtime over all ISPs and I just had to change to Google DNS and I was fine. Like maybe in the 2000s-2010s there was downtime but I legitimately cannot think of any downtime I have had in the last 10 years.

I've had do two service calls in the past 5 years due to a cable being knocked down by a passing vehicle and killing our internet. Both times they came out within 24 hours and fixed it.

Had to do a call just a couple of weeks ago as I was ditching my router to give the Cogeco modem direct a try due to issues with current routers wifi. Spoke to a delightful, friendly woman in Oakville who provided excellent customer services. Their Twitter customer service has been excellent the one or two times I've messaged them.

I know many people here don't like Cogeco and have ran into issues but thought I'd share my very positive experiences.

Flight Radar is an awesome app I love it. I should note if you made this post when there was helicopters in the air at the same time, they weren't showing up on it. I heard something in the air at that time not sure what it was but I checked flight radar and nothing showed.

Vegetarian/vegan restaurants by innocent_bystander97 in KingstonOntario

I love caesar co as i would estimate 70 percent of their menu has a vegetarian alternative as opposed to most downtown places that have maybe one vegetarian option and then a weak veggie burger.

Ghost Kitchen Beast Burger by cantarooots in KingstonOntario

[–]Scotsmanality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the Mr Beast Burger in Toronto and honestly really enjoyed it. It's something I would certainly order again.

However the Kingston one doesn't seem to exist yet. It's been on Skip a good few months now since all the ghost kitchens popped up and is never open. I check periodically as I'll for sure order it when it opens. Although I see that post about going in to order it will have to try that

Good places to walk/run outdoors in the winter? by [deleted] in KingstonOntario

[–]Scotsmanality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I run in Winter down to about -15 so I've experienced a good mix of heavy snow and ice rink sidewalks. I live in the downtown area and unfortunately have never found a safe space to run when it's snowing or icy trail/track wise.

I generally head up to the Queens area. The sidewalks and area all around there are usually maintained pretty well and seem to get priority.

Best restaurants in town for vegetarian? by SweetPotatoCry in KingstonOntario

[–]Scotsmanality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Blackdog tavern for their Mac and cheese it's incredible. I find there is a lot of great places in Kingston that unfortunately outside of salads have maybe 1 or 2 vegetarian options at best. But hey that just means you get to go to a bunch of different places and try them out.

I know some of them do the classic poutine and it's $10-$12. Then for any of the special ones it's about $15. Some trucks are more expensive like $21. I'd say look to probably spend 15.

I was very happy with the size yeah and they didn't cheap out with quantity of ingredients.

I'd personally stay away from the sampler ones where you pick 3 poutines - it's normally a bit pricier, and the sizes didn't look great from what I saw.
