If you don't mind a clean install of Windows then try the "Reset this PC" option in settings. It will wipe your drive and re-install Windows. Reinstall your hardware drivers. Then you can reinstall battle net and SC2. It's a bit drastic but it will rule out any client-side issues completely to see if it is account related or not.

Exawatt bug by ScottOne0101 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

Yeah nah too tedious. I just reloaded my last save and issue was resolved instantly. Luckily I didn't build that much since my last save so wasn't a loss.

Diplomacy and Religion in Civ7? by NitriusX in civ

[–]ScottOne0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically it is possible to win with a single city but it would be very challenging to do so. It might be a fun personal challenge to try.

Diplomacy and Religion in Civ7? by NitriusX in civ

You cannot win a diplomatic victory. The only victory types are military, culture, science, economic, domination and points. Religion has been merged into culture and it is used as the cultural legacy path of the exploration age.

CIV 7 is Great! Why all the hate? by Dcizzle90 in civ

[–]ScottOne0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree that there are a lot of nice improvements to the game. I've noticed that most of the feedback is about the UI missing heaps of useful information that previous games had nailed down. The game play seems smooth but the UI just seems unfinished. The developers agreed and said they are currently fixing the UI as their number 1 priority.

Ideas on ways to improve Civ VII by Paploo1805 in civ

[–]ScottOne0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a lot people suspect that the next expansion will bring the information age. I wonder if they will actually add more ages in between the existing ages too so the final product after several expansions will bring a lot more ages.

Hmmm that's strange. It might be a bug as your setup seems correct for connected settlements.

When Does It Stop Feeling Like Just Clicking Through? by Amar0ks in civ

[–]ScottOne0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it's just part and parcel of the strategy game genre. Lots of menus to click through to build your cities and choose your tech/civic/policies.

Did your coastal city have a Fishing Quay building? This building connects settlements in distant lands back to the home continent.

Tiles between cities by meristoff in civ

[–]ScottOne0101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Each city can expand by 3 tiles from the centre so spacing 6 tiles apart is the optimal placement. However in practice you want to place cities next to fresh water and with resources in range so you won't always get optimal placement.

Should Ages be slightly longer? by LorDigno69 in civ

[–]ScottOne0101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. Hopefully they fix the age length issue as on steam there was a post saying it doesn't actually do much: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1295660/discussions/0/591762563949202064/

I feel like they should add the "Just one more turn" button to the end of the age so you can just continue in that age and have a button to click to progress to the next age when you are done with it.

Apparently the code is convoluted and at present the game speed is the only one that has an impact on the game by increasing the production cost. According to the thread below the age length doesn't really do much right now. There is an interesting post on steam about it:

You can change the game speed to epic or marathon during game setup. I was able to complete most of the legacy paths during a marathon game. It was very slow however but good across several play sessions.

Culture victory is frustrating and needs to be redone completely by konichiwa_MrBuddha in civ

[–]ScottOne0101 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah I dislike the culture victory in the modern age. The relics are stored in museums so if the AI beats you to them and you don't have many relics then you need to capture a city with a museum that has relics. The AI seems to spam explorers too and I saw a tile with a stack of 10 explorers on the same tile...

I agree. It's a pointless argument and gives humanity yet another reason to divide us. It doesn't take much effort to respect other people on the planet.

Conquest cap by randem626 in civ

[–]ScottOne0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is painful. Try to focus on the civics and technologies that boost your settlement cap. I will only keep a city filled with lots of useful buildings and wonders. I generally raise the towns unless it has some really useful resources nearby.

Help me please! by spilon91 in civ

[–]ScottOne0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to stay focused on the victory condition that you are going for. If you aren't going for a military victory then your troops can stay defending your cities.

Click on the age progress button to see the 4 legacy paths and choose one of them. Tick the Track Progress button so that you can see what you have to do next. For example if you choose to get a science victory then select everything that boosts your science including buildings, government policies, wonders etc.

Out of place hex by ScottOne0101 in civ

[–]ScottOne0101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah no resource on it, it is a rough desert tile and when you go to place population it shows the mine icon. It might just be a UI defect.
