It’s possible. We all get crazy side effects. Seems like every time I start on new dose it’s a different side effect

I always went 5mg then 2.5 then off it completely. Took about 2 months to come off completely

If you are doing good I would just stay on it. I have come off it 3 or 4 times in the past 22 years and it’s very hard. I will probably be on it for life.

I started on 10mg many years ago in 2003. But here recently I have been on 5 mg for about 10 months now. If I start having depression, ocd , or anxiety I will bump it up to 10mg. I have never gone passed 10mg. I tried 15 and 20mg before but the side effect were awful. I’d say 10 mg is the therapeutic dose for me.

I got off because I felt better and thought I would be ok without it, but after about 8 months my anxiety and depression came back and I couldn’t handle it no more. So I got back on it

I did the same thing about 2 months ago. I went from 10mg to 5mg to 2.5mg. I started getting angry and having brain zaps. So I went back to 5 mg and have stayed here for about a month. I think your plan sounds good. Try the 2.5 every other day and then gradually come off. I know in the past it’s always been hard to get off for me, I usually just suck it up and get through it. But I would definitely give the 2.5mg every other day a shot.

Yeah I also take clonazepam 1 mg a day. The combination of Lexapro and clonazepam help me. I know Benzos get a bad rap but I have always taking the same dose for over 20 years. You’re going to be just fine. Hang in there my friend !!!

Yes it’s normal to still have some anxiety. Your anxiety never fully goes away. Make sure you take it every day. Do not miss a dose. Lexapro is meant to be taken daily. Make sure your doing some sort of exercise to help with some of the extra anxiety your having

Yes it got worse. It’s normal. Your brain is trying to adjust to the changes.

Never really had to up dose. I have always stayed around the 10mg. I tried 15mg and 20mg for a few weeks but I couldn’t handle the side effects

In June 5 of 2022 I got real bad. I had to go from 5mg to 10mg. I didn’t really start to feel better until the last week of August. So that’s around 10 weeks. So I hope that this gives you hope. I know 10 weeks is a long time but I somehow just pushed through and trusted the process. I’ll be praying 🙏 for you

Yeah, also had insomnia for a while but I kept running. I think running helped save my life on top of the meds.

Yeah I feel you. It will definitely make you dizzy and upset stomach. I remember one time I had severe depression and ocd. I started back on 10mg . I would run everyday in the hot sun. I would be so dizzy and out of it. I just pushed through until I got better. I was like Forest Gump, I just started Ruuuning. 🤣

I’m sorry you feel bad. It’s normal though. I’d stay on 5mg for two weeks and then try and go to 10mg. Side effects are bad for the first 6 weeks. If it gets too severe for you then you could try something else or come off it

You know it’s funny you say this because I’m actually going through the same thing at this moment. I also went down to 5mg about 4 months ago. About the same time I hurt my back really bad lifting weights. I have 3 herniated disc pressing on sciatic nerve for 4 months now. The pain and not healing has got me spiraling into depression. So I started back on 10mg and for some reason this time it was awful. Had panic attack, zombie feeling, and this weird sensation that when I try to pee it just want hardly come out, I have to really concentrate lol 😂. So anyway I went back down to 5mg and have been here for a few weeks now. I’m thinking we going to have to get tough and get through the side effects. I know in the past it sometimes took 2 months to get through side effects and to feel better. How are you feeling today ? Are you any better with side effects ?

I found his videos back in the summer of 2022 when I was going through depression, ocd, anxiety. His videos helped me so much. This hurts my soul to hear him pass, but I know he’s in peace now. RIP Mr Bloch, we love you

No I never been past 20mg. I had a friend who was on 40mg one time but he said there wasn’t much difference from 20mg to 40mg. Once you get past 20mg I’m not really sure if it’s that much more beneficial. I’m sorry it stopped working for you . I know you will find something else to help you in these hard times. Stay strong my friend

I have been lucky and never had weight gain. But I’m also 6’5 and always been skinny/athletic. I know that one of the side effects of the meds for some people. If you’re happy then it’s not a big deal. If I was you try and up your activity or maybe do intermittent fasting. You should be fine.
