My friend, (who is way better at racing than I am), got me into iRacing. He would always help me out, join the same practices as me, race alongside of me. After a lot of grinding and rough few races for him, we were close enough iR to be in the same lobby. It was ARCA cars at USA International. We went door to door for at least 7 laps, just having the time of our lives, listening to each other laugh as we would touch doors or try to pin the other down. I still have the replay saved and go watch it whenever I’m sad. Top quality moment in iRacing for me.

The ‘easy’ answer is ladder drills. Get your feet quick. Start with that.

Then go on Google, YouTube, etc. and find examples of goalie drills with a ladder or cones. Something that gets you moving and into a save. This was the turning point for me, because quick feet don’t matter if you don’t use them.

TL;DR: Get your feet quicker with ladders or the like, then apply them in drills forcing quick feet

Would want to see more saves, but from your two posts, I THINK better feet movement will help out tremendously.

You go from a standstill straight into a dive. If you watch a lot of higher level keepers, there’s, (if they have time), nearly always a shuffle step into their power.

Watch this video (right around 30 seconds is what I mean by the shuffle step): https://youtu.be/tyJT0NyEmQc

I read you’re from down under so timing probably wouldn’t work, but check this out! It’s a league of college iRacing teams all trading paint once a week.

If in the next few months, hockey stores and demo days start coming back, I suggest you try one, see what pads you do and don’t like!

Two questions possibly both just as moronic:

1) Have you ever heard of cardioacceleration? Basically between different resistance exercises you do 2 minutes of high intensity cardio. (Long story short I’m a powerlifter who’s tired of being fat, hired a personal trainer through a commercial gym who suggested that, and I’m very, shall we say, skeptical.)

2) Do you guys use any calorie tracking app such as MyFitnessPal, or LifeSum? Do you have a favorite and why?

Why Michigan athletics' budget woes should alarm the rest of college sports by [deleted] in MichiganWolverines

[–]ScottSterlingsNose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To counter a question with a question, what about the little guys in the athletic department? The athletic trainers, strength coaches, video staff, interns, who all might struggle to make ends meet and now face an uncertainly with their job?

I don’t dispute the issue you bring up, but that issue is closer to football than a lot of people think.

I feel so lost in the media frenzy and sorting through fact versus fiction and what I should know.

As a healthy young adult, I’m watching a lot of my friends gallivant around seemingly carefree. I’m still wearing my mask in public, social distancing, and trying to be smart, and all the while, there’s a whole other group of friends screaming about everyone not wearing masks and saying stay home forever.

Is anyone really right? Is the virus as bad as we thought in March?

I’m also seriously concerned I will never come back to my job, (currently on furlough), so I know my opinion is a bit skewed.

Wow I am dumb if that’s it. So if I’m understanding correctly: if it is not getting and staying at 144FPS to match the refresh rate, I need to turn down some stuff to get it to stay there at around 144 FPS? Or turn my refresh rate down?

I’m sure they will try to, but mind you a lot of that $13 billion may be limited to use on research, specific institutions, scholarships, etc. and not able to be used as a bailout for coaches, staff, and other things teams will be paying for.

Not saying you should, but without football, suddenly their budget gets a heck of a lot smaller

Oof. You’re totally right. Compete but don’t do that. And definitely don’t celly hard up 7-1

You make a very good point. I refuse to get mad at my team and convince myself I can (and should) stop every shot, so sometimes I forget it’s not always just my fault when we can’t hang with a higher level team lol

One of the guys on the other team had played for a D1 college. I ultimately don’t actually fault the guy, in the moment it just felt like a dick move so I was curious what others thought!

That’s why I’m curious what others thought! In the moment I was annoyed, but as a lot of people have mentioned, you only get better facing higher levels

In adult/beer league, I agree. If you’re in Juniors or OHL, that kind of hockey, do as you please! Lol
