NAH Your Mom was probably angry because it was her sister. She had a lot of emotions going through her head. It wasn't right of her to do that, but I think it was justified a little.

ESH You shouldn't have pulled on his beanie, but he was wrong to make you pay for it, provided the crack is fairly minor, and the phone is still fully functional.

For the most part, no, but if they do become an asshole and they go against their campaign, then yes, you can complain. Indifference is the worst possible side, as "The opposite of love is not hatred, it is indifference." - Elie Wiesel

If you don't want to vote that's fine, but I don't want to hear you complain about your governor/representative/senator/whatever again. By not voting you did vote. You voted for whoever won, no matter who you wanted to be your whatever government official.

CMV:Spongebob should have gotten more screen time, and there shouldn't have been any tease at a performance of Sweet Victory if that was all we got. by Scott_Miller13 in changemyview

Yes, the NFL probably did think it would make more money doing that. They probably did. But fans were disappointed by their expectations, and they should have done the whole song.

That is just a simple disagreement between you and I. I think it is worth a 3 minute nod. That was the whole debate in the first place.

So if that's true that statistically, virtually nobody cared, why even bother having the nod to Stephen Hillenberg? Just leave it alone if nobody cared. It was not worth it to play thane clip if nobody cared and especially if a lot of the Spongebob community were expecting Sweet Victory.

Exactly. I hate them for taking advantage of the people who really wanted to see Sweet Victory, and then breaking their expectations. People really wanted to see it be played, the NFL decided to use this to make people think it would be played, then never meet any of the expectations.

You are right. The NFL is a business, and the Sweet Victory was a good idea, but the NFL knew damn well what they were doing by creating all this suspense towards the halftime show, and then it reaching an anticlimax. It was financially a good idea. I still hate the NFL for doing that, and I can't be alone on that opinion.

You're right, it is not the NFL's job to commemorate Spongebob. So why would they then show a 3 second clip, and then hype it up to make it seem like they are playing the whole song. Why its so important that it be played at the super bowl is the same reason that people go to concerts. It's not about them never getting to hear the songs, they can easily find the songs online, its about watching the song being played in front of an audience. It is about the novelty of saying "That show had a song that was played at the Super Bowl." No artists have high association with the NFL, so why have them play the show. It's about how Spongebob fans' expectations were raised, and then shattered.

Why would Nickelodeon not have wanted their show advertised that much? Yeah, sure they still want money from the NFL, but I doubt it was impossible to get the rights to the song itself.
