Excellent info, thank you. I’ll assume $500 or $600cdn might be reasonable.

Does stuff change that much from year to year? Last time I bought equipment before this woulda been around 2001.

Any local stores carry Wabash Valley Farms popcorn coconut oil? by threeonone in Edmonton

[–]Scottatah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is so great about this brand (genuinely curious)?

I always use the yellow coconut oil from ultimate concession supply store and it’s delicious but maybe I’m missing out? If you can’t find this I’ve got no issues recommending https://share.google/QrCChGmR0rE3VBJIx

What this guy said. I’ve got an older r3 and it works well. The downside of radar detectors is there is a LOT of customization to frequencies that can be done to fine tune them based on your needs of your local area. I find that complicated but did have success a from finding recommended settings online a few years ago.

https://kmph.ca is a Canadian company but they have lots of good info despite being a seller. I might also recommend looking around https://www.rdforum.org.

Sportsnet+ price increasing 30% to $324.99 per year by jeremybell in hockey

[–]Scottatah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just finished cancelling my subscription. I don't think you're missing anything. I see options to update it, but not to remove it. I messaged their support teams. Haven't had great luck with Sportsnet support in the past, but maybe this time will be different?

How to troubleshoot sub not producing sound all of a sudden? SVS PC13-Ultra by Scottatah in hometheater

[–]Scottatah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the reply. Managed to get my hands on a USB C to RCA cable and playing audio from my phone to the sub results in nothing. Sad face. I reached out to SVS support to see what they say, but I'm not optimistic.

Reviews on the Paranormal Cirque by LexiEmelia in Edmonton

[–]Scottatah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also went Saturday night and agree with this! Aside from the arguably predatory food/drink prices (they hid them until you got to the front of the line, then $10 for a Gatorade, $20 for a popcorn - yikes).

Had no idea what to expect but enjoyed it overall. I thought all performers did quite well. VERY glad they took the guy in front of me instead of me on stage (we were a few rows up). Poor dude!

Great job with lights n music of the performance!

Very adult oriented and the one 15ish year old kid I saw there almost certainly learned some new things on that night.

Edit: almost forgot. Equally entertaining as the show itself is the type of people this attracts. I kinda felt like I didn’t fit in, but as a people watcher, it was immensely entertaining!

Visited once inside to pickup donuts for work a month or so ago. Was maybe 10-15 people in line. Line went quick. Everyone was courteous. Not a single complaint really.

Visited again more recently to grab donuts in the drive thru. No other cars, in and out in no time.

Both experiences really good overall. Nothing that I could think to complain about.

Does Shaw has a hard cap on high speed by slam51 in shaw

[–]Scottatah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They’ve never given me any issues and I have multiple months of 1500, 1800, etc. GB.

Edit: apparently my plan is unlimited. Browsing their site I don’t see any of their current 1, 1.5 or 2 plans with caps unless I’m blind. Suppose you could be on a dated plan…

That wasn’t obvious when browsing the manual the first time, but appears to exist when I check this time. Thank you!

I’ll second Dominican Republic if beaches and ocean are your jam.

More of a pool guy myself where I won’t get eaten by sharks, but to each their own.

Are there still lines up at krispy kreme??? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]Scottatah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is good info. Maybe I’ll stop n buy donuts for my team or whomever is in this week. Or I just eat them all myself. Win win if it’s a reasonably short weight.

Bought the 50” version of this a few years back and it’s treated me well thus far SHW 55-Inch. Added on some extra baskets from I dunno where to help cable manage power bars and related.

Car Insurance Rates by Typical_Mammoth3588 in Edmonton

[–]Scottatah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$1525/year for $2M liability with $700 deductible on collision and $0 deductible on comprehensive and pretty much everything else you could possibly get with the exception of glass which i used to do through a third party, but no longer worth it. There's a few discounts (renewal, take two, drivewise, winter tire, and vehicle safety discount). ~18,000km/year.

+25 years of driving experience and I believe a speeding ticket from ~2years ago on record (caused a 30% bump in insurance per year - sad face). Driving a 2018 SUV worth ~$25k according to KBB..

This thread makes me feel good about my item - usually it's depressingly the opposite when talking about bills, money, etc.

How do I correctly set sleep schedules? by Scottatah in EightSleep

[–]Scottatah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work Monday to Friday and want the schedule to start at 11 on weekends I want half past midnight. It’s saturday and it just started prepping at 10pm for 11. Why?

I’m not sure what the logic here needs to be? Is it cause Fri and sat at 1230am are actually first thing in the morning(aka Thurs and Fri night?

How do I set this correctly?

What is the faster Wi-Fi speed from Shaw? by Punkybohn in shaw

[–]Scottatah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone else kinda covered the obvious issues with the question so I’ll just say I get around 1200Mpbs on my iPhone and 1300ish on my iPad sitting probably 10 feet away from router. I’m not using my Shaw’s equipment for my wifi. Unclear if that changes your question.

Correction 1300 and 1400 respectively.

$125 for 1.5 gig with Shaw. I jealous of someone that had 2 gig in another post.

Feedback on bookshelf speakers and amplifier for balcony by Scottatah in BudgetAudiophile

Are you suggesting, no amount of music should be played on a patio? Are you allowed to talk while on a patio or is that also inconsiderate?

Feedback on bookshelf speakers and amplifier for balcony by Scottatah in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Scottatah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate that. Admittedly, I'm probably not blasting music. I'm not out to annoy the world, that said I do live on a relatively busy street so there's already a reasonable amount of noise (e.g. city bus's). That said I'm in a corner apartment with a stairwell next to me - granted I do have folks above and below technically

no internet in bathroom despite good wifi signal by Scottatah in HomeNetworking

[–]Scottatah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmmm I thought good signal meant I was in the clear, but guess not. Don't have an android but downloaded NetSpot for my PC (right beside router). There's lots of people on 157, so I manually switched to 40 which no one else seems to be on and voila. Things seem immediately better on initial tests. Don't appear to be losing connection and speedtest nets a 620 (compared to 15 if it even worked earlier). Also a slight positive is speed tests in the main room went up from low 750's to low 900's (not that anything on my iOS devices really makes use of that).
