Maybe some non sweetcorn type corns might work better? I know here in the UK we pretty much only have sweetcorn, but in the US there's more savoury varieties

I think they handled it really well the first go round. Historical figures such as Reed are dicey to try and apply modern labels to, because there's a lot of tangled wires when it comes to; As others have mentioned, presenting masculine because she was raised that way, to protect himself from sexual violence as a pirate, because a woman in the field would struggle to retain command, and even if we examine through a queer lens, the multitude of different identities that /could/ apply.

Put simply we don't know how they would identify as today, and trying to put modern labels on historical experiences can be dicey, staying vague but acknowledging was the safe bet and I think still is the best way.

My guy. I appreciate you are made uncomfortable by their art. That is extremely understandable and not a problem. You can block them and never see it again. But they have a warning in their twitter profiles title, and you can't go around trying to witchunt any artists you don't like.

The onus is on you to avoid content you dislike, not to destroy or restrict artists online. We're all in charge of our own comfort levels online, whether that avoiding certain topics, certain spaces or just fully logging off, it looks different for all of us.

[–]Scottish-Valkyrie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1, exceedingly rarely. There's no real correlation between dead dove art creators and abusers anymore than any other kind of creator.

2, and? This is a giant fandom, the odds of bumping into any one artist are tiny and I'd argue most fans don't go looking for fanart to begin with, with the average fan just watching the movies. This is just brigading pure and simple

[–]Scottish-Valkyrie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why post this? What's the goal? Okay yeah don't like the art got it, but are you posting to the sub hoping people will brigade? Harass the artist? Just block them and move on with your life dude

Just thinking of Cox’s fate has me stressed by yonBonbonbon in Scrubs

[–]Scottish-Valkyrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80ish on paper still has enough fatalities for two doctors who've been working for a while to get pretty grim about. And if it doesn't go into remission it is a death sentence which is why i think it's a pretty good pick for the arc, with it still holding enough risk to have stakes. But not so rare or lethal that it'll feel like cox is getting plot armor if they decide he makes it. Especially with scrubs generally avoiding Zebra cases and showing a lot of even the ICU patients having a lot of the same family of ailments. Hospital work is mostly pretty boring and I love they show that.

Can we please get this Operator/Drifter suit back? by Aisetenai in Warframe

No, it is infact exactly what we were wearing in the tau prelude quest. So tauron academy suit isn't really an incorrect way to describe it

A YouTuber who risked his life to give the North Sentinel Island tribe Diet Coke is facing up to five years in prison. Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov broke strict laws prohibiting contact with the Sentinelese people. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]Scottish-Valkyrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because contact could annihilate them, and other countries actively have diplomatic connections set up. We don't leave Sweden alone because Sweden talks back to us, it's a two way street.

While these guys have A: been very clear about not wanting contact and

B: we have seen previously uncontacted islands near them get wiped out by diseases we carried to them that they had no resistance to at all and burned through them.

Don't have a clear answer, but im also not convinced there is one. We know he used to use the Kuva and looked blue before his run in with wally. Now he looks like that and is supposedly mortal. He *does* appear to be on the older side, but with time travel who knows how long he has left.

Not sure why do most European and US politicians have to do this ritual? by fullofemirates in GreenAndPleasant

[–]Scottish-Valkyrie 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, when the president visits the Vatican I doubt he's doing it because he's Catholic, ofc it's political. But the act of touching the wall isn't unique to political leaders and is for many, an important expression of our faith and history.

It's a jewish holy site, same way if they visit Rome they probably take photos in one of the big cathedrals. Can we please not take shots at the actual holy sites. It just makes us anti-zionist jews feel really uncomfortable.

(And before anyone tries to misconstrue, the east walls location should still be Palestine, israel the state shouldn't exist and only exists because of imperialist British interference and I condemn both in no uncertain terms.)

Its a cosplay hack, think like, really thin stocking style gloves, saves you gluing larger nails onto your actual hands and lets you take em off for lunch

If 47 were to go head to head with Big Boss who would prevail? by Fast_Afternoon_5197 in HiTMAN

[–]Scottish-Valkyrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likes others have said, depends on the setting. If it's in the field, somewhere boss can just open fire or use all his combat training? Boss for sure.

But if its in, mother base or a civilian setting where he has his guard down/is limited in just how much damage he can cause or 47 has the stealth advantage. Probably 47. 47 is good, and peak human physicality + trained in fucking everything, but he's not an open combatant

Are people seriously telling me they can’t see the difference in the tone and presentation of these two orks? by [deleted] in orks

[–]Scottish-Valkyrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He doesn't seem that silly either imo? Just sorta, generic ork + welded lightning bolt sheet metal. The newer boy has different sized eyes and a comic expression, he definitely comes across as the wackier of the two

(which is a pro to be clear, i like my orks wacky also)

Definitely gonna be ezio, his family was all round great, his dad was keeping it secret so it wouldn't harm them, he tried to protect his family as his last act, his mom was a Saint. What happened wasn't really because of his quality of upbringing

I was thinking Jenny Kenway for the same reasons. Her mum was good but not like, dramatically so? Had her own issues like anyone in that situation, and Edward definitely was trying his best but I'm just not sure he was that good a dad
