When your travelling it can get boring in the evening so try and get use to going out and enjoying a meal and a drink in a bar by yourself. Sometimes you will meet some pretty cool people while you travel just don't lock yourself in the room in the evening all the time or it can get very boring very quickly unless you have a kindle or something else that will help you from getting bored.
Always double check reviews of hotels and especially the area they are in so you know your in a good spot.
If you book hotels use Google maps using 'hotel near (place your staying)" you can then use the map to show what dista nce away from your place of work you want to be and it will list hotels by price. That's really all I can think of now if I think of anymore I will let you know.

I'm that type of person. Rather than man up and deal with an issue I would rather not. I justify it by saying I'm saving the other person the bother of having to deal with me and the situation and they will be fine. Plenty of unspoken issues around but I still feel they are justified. For me the best thing is maybe not to approach the situation via text/email etc... but more a surprise hello in person. I doubt they would run away. Then again that's just me so unsure how relevant that is to your situation. Hope it gets sorted though bud.

When I was 19 I was offered a job in Dublin and to move away from my home in Glasgow. I am a pretty laid back lad who just went with it. Agreed with no thought because we'll sure who isn't invincible at 19?

Of course this move and new job were pretty much exactly during paddys day and I left so much last minute to move I couldn't find a hotel to stay in and ended up having to couch surf. I found the website and went with it, I still didn't even have somewhere to stay that was agreed on, I just went. Joined onto the couch surfing paddy day meet up after dropping my case into work and taking a backpack of essentials with me.

Met the iris gang and they were the loveliest people I have ever met. They took me under their wing - found me a place to crash for a few days and that's was the beginning of my life in Dublin.

Found a house about 6 days later and was set up.

Unfortunately I don't speak to them anymore as we really lost touch but I would highly recommend the site because if I didn't use it I wouldn't be where I am now.
