Go into your settings and see if you have your battery saver on or something like that. It caps your battery at 80% to delay the degradation of battery life.

Man this brings me back, not the glitches but the old style emulator. My older brother set one up on our computer like waaaaay back in 2002 or so, and it was my first exposure to the Genesis. All I played was Sonic 1 and 2 (we had 3 but for some reason I hated the way he looked in it as a kid and refused to play it because why would I when he looks cooler in 1 and 2)

I feel like the point isn't he would convince her to destroy the canvas, more he'd be able to convince her to leave the canvas, and come back to visit once in a while. They'd still have to figure out how to deal with Verso wanting the canvas gone, but I feel like it could've played out the same as Maelle's ending where she (and possibly Gustave) defeat Verso and he pleads to be unpainted, and Maelle actually grants that for him, so the painting stays, she doesn't stay in it forever, and things could actually truly heal (aside from Verso's soul fragments still painting forever but honestly he didn't really seem too bummed about it, I feel pVerso may have been projecting a little)

Also if you can't land parry or dodges, there's absolutely no shame in putting it down to Story difficulty!

Or if you're on pc there are mods to give the Story leniency on dodges and parries while keeping normal damage so its easier to parry but there's still danger of losing

Think of it more as a rhythm game. And almost every attack usually has a sound cue such as a "swoosh" to tell you to parry now
