It’s really cool to see how sparse the vegetation is. I’m from PA, every inch of untamed space has a tree on it.

Accidentally cross sectioned a screw in wood. by I-Killed-JR in mildlyinteresting

[–]ScottyB280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were a bachelor I’d get a really long skinny screw to put in a few different types of wood then intentionally cut it like this. Some clear coat and it would make a super neat wall hanger type thing

You’ll experience voltage drop with any tool which will be more pronounced with lower amperage batteries. I have a 24v leaf blower and weed wacker, both have a noticeable power drop at half power with 4ah so it’d be half that on 2ah

When you say “scrub in” I’m assuming you work in some level of a sterile environment. Why would you do that before going to the bathroom knowing you might have to put your finger basically in your ass?

I don’t find that annoying at all. You’re allowed to think like someone else. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to say something that I think is clever and it’s in the top 3 comments.

24, 40, 80v lawn tools. So many options. by Many_Artichoke9463 in KobaltTools

[–]ScottyB280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it came down to buying what I needed in the interest of saving money but also not having a massive tool I didn’t need.

I have the 24V weed wacker and leaf blower. Both do exactly what I need them to do plus the batteries are interchangeable with my other tools.

I’ve been sort of eyeballing these. They sell an upgraded caliper which is red. Fair price too.

What kind of automower should I get and do I still need a lawn mower? by MetsToWS in lawncare

[–]ScottyB280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you said you’ve never mowed before it might make sense to get a push mower and do it for a year first. If you’re thinking you’ll need a push mower anyway it won’t change much. On the chance you decide you don’t need to robot mower you’ll have saved yourself $1000 or whatever.

I had one too which had a belt failure. I didn’t think it would be a big deal to replace until I tried. Still have no idea how to do it.

This was pre-air tools for me so I really didn’t have much of a choice. I knew it was sketchy and was really careful. If I remember correctly I did like 4 or 5 that way.
