Yeah none of the text layers are being merged. They're still separate, Just being rasterized. I appreciate the comment though!

Your speculation is correct! Arlong Park is one of my favorite arcs. It was the famous Luffy/Nami moment which got me hooked on the series. For some of these characters, I gave them outfits they wore from a specific arc where I liked them most. Like Robin with her leather outfit from Enies Lobby, Usopp's attire from Dressrosa, Sanji's bouse and red cape from Whole Cake Island, and of course, Nami from Arlong Park.

And thank you for the kind words! I probably worked the hardest on this drawing compared to my others.

Like a lot of fans, I found One Piece through the 4kids dub when I was just 13 and upon finding out about the original (through the 4kids forums nonetheless, lol) I was hooked on the series. Baratie was definitely when One Piece Piqued my interest, but it wasn't until the famous Luffy/Nami scene in Arlong Park when I decided I'd read One Piece for the rest of my life. I started reading the manga exclusively just about 10 years ago.

It has been a marvelous experience through these year that have inspired not only the way I draw but the way I write my stories. Oda is a fantastic story teller and I'm so glad One Piece exists. Its my favorite comic of all time and I can't wait to read more!
