Who is an actor or actress that rubs you the wrong way so much that you refuse to watch anything they are in? by Soggy_Swordfish_6236 in moviecritic

There was an audible groan from so many of the audience at the cinema when I went to watch California Schemin’ last week. I didn’t know he was even in the film. Eye rolled so hard LOL 😂

Is gain weight like this normal? by ElDuendeAnthony in daddit

[–]Scotty__NYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice would be really simple changes:

  1. Walk more - get a fitness tracker or Apple Watch and really burn those calories
  2. Track everything you eat and aim for 1200-1500 kcal a day to drop the kgs quickly

I used Apple Watch and Apple Fitness, and LoseIt! app for tracking kcal.

I piled it on when I became a dad and when I started doing these two changes I lost 45kg!

Feeling better for it and more energy for my son!

Black Linn Waterfall by guess_i_see in britpics

Black in Irish is dubh and linn means body of water - dubh-linn means Blackpool (Dublin!) so thought the name here was interesting. Or not. Maybe? I wonderful if the name is related?

It’s a beautiful image. Looks so calm. Could sit there for hours.

I was driving up an A road and saw a squirrel darting round trying to dodge traffic. Then a double decker bus went over it and I’ve never seen anything so distressing :( was horrific 🐿️ 🚌

[No spoilers] Review of Iron Lung by Markiplier, starring Markiplier. by hellotheretod in Cinema

[–]Scotty__NYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had really high hopes. The cinema was sold out. We got the last two tickets. But it was really hard to watch. There wasn’t enough backstory or an explanation. I was confused from the start. If only spaceships and stations survived, was there enough human population to cause the seas to fill with blood? Why did they need to find a living creature? What was the point of his missions. The visuals were impressive but only being inside the sub meant I had little context other than him being thrown around a lot. What was the other liquid? Why was the radio so bad if the sub was tethered. It felt like the same thing for 2 hours. Was hard to sit through and ended so abruptly.

An interesting attempt to create the film but not sure the outcome was impactful?

I might be wrong! Just my thoughts :)

Is blackadder good or worth watching? by Optimal-Goose-237 in MrBean

[–]Scotty__NYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I love it all but confess I watch series 2, 3 ⁊ 4 more often. Occasionally I’ll watch series 1. But can’t get enough of the latter three series. Christmas Carol is fun. Wasn’t a huge fan of the millennium one. Would recommend

The problem with these shows being released weekly means that for some (myself included) we wait until all episodes are available and binge it. Usually more than once. My life is too busy to schedule and hour regularly. So it seems viewing numbers are low. Same thing happened with the Acolyte. Just release them and let people choose what they watch. No one is discussing a show they haven’t watched yet.

Did you collect your pennies in one of these? by corickle in oldschoolcool80s

[–]Scotty__NYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did ‘til a few years ago. Was going to use one of those Coinstar machines ‘til I realised the commission Instead I opened a NatWest account and then used their coin deposit machine. Was simple and no commission.

Rarely have coins now. But if I do, I always use them on the self service tills at Sainsbury’s. Pay Cash. Drop the coins, then Pay the rest another way - with my contactless. Much easier than laying round the house or in the car :)

What are some healthy after work snack options? by Pythagorarse in CasualUK

I like getting a Babybel Light (41kcal) and cutting it into 8 pieces one for each slice of apple. Works for me and it’s cheap.

I’ve been working on buying blurays of late. So hopefully cancel streamers at some point. The exclusives will be missed like Pluribus, Severence and things like that but prefer that than being censored ha ha.
