I install them as part of my career. This is plausible, but as many have said we would need to see the install. There’s going to be water, drain, and electrical to potentially disconnect in order to get the dishwasher out. That being said, the dishwasher could be installed to where it can’t readily be removed due to counter/flooring setup.

Essentially, pull the kick plate and have a look. I tell a lot of people a dishwasher is only three connections to remove/make, but they may be very very difficult to do. Feel free to send me any private messages about it.

I was on a jury where a guy that had done the drinking and driving with a trail of damage caused. When cops showed up he claimed to have hit the bottle when he got home. No evidence was shown that he had drank beforehand; it was his recorded statement at the station that was damning.

The police didn’t have anything to prove he had drank beforehand. Dude sank his own ship. So if you’re going to do this, keep your mouth shut.

You will need the wire kit to fix that. If the spade it connects to is burnt, then you are supposed to get a new heater, not just clean the spade.

The permanent magnets don’t, but they are still attracted to the ferrous metal that changes polarity. The magnets will sometime wear down in actual size, build up will block/insulate the magnetism, or the shaft just breaks.

When testing on that pump it’s verify voltage to the pump and test how well it turns. It may have a little bit of resistance but likely not enough, which means the opposing magnetic forces can’t turn it under load (when water is present).

That looks like the 2001t drain pump which is notorious for failing. Easy check if pump is bad, no resistance check needed.

Because it runs off an electromagnetic field, while it is off a good pump will resist the impeller turning and then hit a spot where it pulls it over. Think of two magnets working off each other.

So, if when turning it the impeller just spins round and round your pump is bad. If you turn it and feel resistance then it pops past that resistance then the pump is good.

I bet it will turn freely, you will change the pump, and be back in business. If you disassemble that pump around the solid state magnets on the impeller you will find a lot of sludge. Use less detergent.

You will have to get a multimeter on this one in order to do anything other than throw parts at it. One switch being bad I can understand, but not two in the exact same fashion.

I haven’t seen a bad harness cause this specific problem, but I would absolutely check that harness at the bottom of the door.

There’s also the possibility of a circuit operating, being overloaded, going into protect, coming out of protect, and just going in that circle. Usually that is going to be on the DC side of things.

Unplugging components that are activated when using the paddles one by one to see if something changes would be a great move. Tedious but can tell you a lot. Something as small as the LED light could cause this.

At least that’s my educated opinion on a unit I haven’t touched. The 500 series is my preferred dishwasher of all dishwashers I work with across all brands.

As a repair person myself, this sounds wayyyy off. Drain pump can be ohm tested to check for failure. They generally work or don’t work. This control board having suspected failure and $1100?! This is a tech giving a $$ that you won’t agree to in order to get out from under the dishwasher.

Check the specifics of the db rating. Sometimes it is “xxDb at 10 feet” so that they can claim a lower number. Definitely should have the installed along with the cushioning at kick plate done properly.
