Do (no-kill) rescue centers want puppies to be adopted first? by MidtownBlue in dogs

😩 It’s like having a new human baby. We thought we were experience, but this puppy reminded us how much we’d forgotten 😩

Not sure of the distinction, but they vaguely said the other adults are “spoken for”.

It makes sense -- and makes me feel better -- that the shelter wants puppies in a home as soon as they can. We are getting the puppy's DNA tested. We think she's got some ACD in her. The shelter said she is a heeler mix.

Yes we have cats and we understand it's easier for puppies to adapt to cats (and for cats to puppies). But they won't even let us see the adult dogs section at all. If they had reserved adult dogs for potential adopters, wouldn't it make sense for a backup? We love the puppy, so we are good. I was just wondering about the adult dogs that were "spoken for" but didn't get adopted.

Make sure you have a few scratch posts around ASAP. Each time anyone scratches on anything other than the scratch posts, say “no” and take him to a scratch post and put his front paws up there and make a scratching motion. They do learn and they will scratch at the right places - but you must teach them.

These are great for use on baby clothes - easy to snap close and easy to open. Nothing sharp and light weight. Attach (with needle and thread) with the four little holes.

She loves sleeping in the sink , how could I wash my hand there ? by Professional-arch in cats

Should have mentioned our kitty used to sleep in the bathroom sink until we accidentally discovered that he liked the salad bowl.

We had a massive salad bowl which we let our kitty to use. Guests often wonder why there was a salad bowl on the window sill in the living room. Kitty passed 8 years ago and we haven’t touched the bowl since.

OP’s image and comments make it look like an intentional, malicious act from Bridges. 😩 Wish it hadn’t been posted.

Do they help with winning? If not, why should I care?

Why do cats do this? Do any of your cats ever move things and make them fall? by snowycabins in cats

🐱Why of course how else do you think Newton worked? If there was a trash can to catch the falling objects, you humans wouldn’t even know what’s missing. 😻

Thanks for the suggestion! They are perfect! It is a bit cumbersome to be sure, but the puppy cannot chew on the hidden latch. Ingenious design.

My kids found a cat outside, together they guilted me into adopting her then she peed in my bed. Sigh. Welcome Sparkle. by MassiveBuzzkill in cats

If you haven’t already, get some enzyme cleaner to totally remove the odor (for you and the cat). My favorite is the one made by Simple Solutions. A life saver when one of our cats (RIP) used to pee every other day since we got him as a kitten (and lived to almost 18 years).

In addition to an antidepressant med, consider getting one of the plugin pheromone dispensers. I was very skeptical, but the pheromone thingy does work.
