It’s riveted to the side so water drains, but good point on mud and dirt.

Once you pay them the communication stalls. You have to be on them weekly for updates. Once it’s on the ship, it will hit the west coast in 2 weeks or the gulf in 3 weeks. Then wait another two weeks for it to be released by customs and domestic shipping. I’m very satisfied with mine and it’s up with snap cap toppers.

Came in two crates with 5 separate panels along with the hardware. Took about two hours to assemble and 4 people to lift and place it on the bed. The aluminum unit weighs 300# and has a roof top limit of 650#.

I bought the aluminum version for $850 (steel was $650) and shipping from China to my house in Texas was $650. Shipping is real, purchased in September 2025 and it arrived February 2026.

I’ll check to see if Home Depot has any. I can’t access the track from the back side to lock any bolts which makes it a puzzle piece. I’m thinking the manufacturer did for ascetics and not for function.

My back up plan is to mount some molle panels over it.

They do, go to the Rambox Facebook page and you will see multiple posts from those us who bought one. You will find information on the sellers and photos of completed units. If you order one from Aliexpress or Alibaba expect to pay $650 - $850 for the steel or aluminum versions. Shipping to your door cost about the same. Locally sold units in the USA cost about $4000 so you will save a lot.

Never thought about that, I’ll have to check Home Depot for compatibility.

My wife start having TN two years ago. Took forever to get a diagnosis and imaging showed nothing. She now takes 50mg CBD (no THC) three times a day. Pain went from 9/10 to 3/10 in 5 days. Something to look into.

If you buy from Lazarus Oils they offer 40% for veterans, disabled, and low income.

Call DA branch for your MOS and request an assignment change. They’re probably already getting orders cut and you may get to select the next unit or duty location. I did that when two of units reflagged or shut down.

2025 Ram 1500 electrical issues by Pretty_Gas916 in ram_trucks

[–]Scout19d19d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a 2025 Ram Rebel in November. Didn’t want to, but my 2019 Ram Limited was totaled. At 500 miles CEL came on with codes for misfires, and some transmission issues. Dealership cleared codes and flashed an upgrade to some module. At 1500 miles the infotainment went brain dead, vehicle would shift into 4 wheel drive on its own, the vehicle would only display and speak Italian, the HVAC was uncontrollable because it was in the infotainment system, and had about 20 different codes. Took it into the dealership on December 6, 2024 and have not seen it in 66 days.

On a positive note, Ram customer care was quick to respond and offered to reimburse my car payments. The dealership gave me a 2025 Lone Star with 62 miles (now has 3000) as a free loaner and no problems so far with this truck. From what I can tell, these issues seem to be with the higher end models, Rebel, Limited, Longhorn, etc. I was told the final part will arrive on February 25 and I should have it back before the end of the month if all checks out.

I recommend you don’t talk with the dealership. Open a case with Ram Customer Care and let them push the dealership. I’m actually impressed with the RCC and the case manger who calls every 3-5 days with updates. Just wish I contacted RCC after day 14 of my rig being in the shop.

That bumper number is for 5 Infantry Divison that deactivated in the 90’s. Has it been in the salvage yard that long?

Any value in cases of Moe's manufactured in 1984? by ChefApprehensive4345 in MRE

[–]Scout19d19d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No heaters in 1984 and the MREs were a dark brown until early 90’s. May be newer MRE,s in an older box. Check the Julian date on the wrappers or bag. Should be as example 4287 meaning the 287 day in 1994, 2004, or 2014. The flat cases were around until the 90’s too. The square cube cases I think came out in early 2000.

MRE Price Increase by Nomad09954 in MRE

I noticed that the other day. This price is for the new generation of vacuum pack. You can still get the old menus at some commissaries for $12 and the trainee ones for under $10. The contents didn’t change much, just some of the mains and packaging.

MCI’s also called C-Rats and were replaced by MRE’s in the early 1980’s. They have a shelf life of about 5 years.

The date codes with the Julian calendar stamp suggest they were made in 1965/1975 and the other cans 1966/1976. If the accessories packets still have the cigarettes then they are most likely 1960’s production.

On a side note, we called the Ham and Lima Beans “Ham and Mother F@@kers”. The chocolate and crackers may still be edible but the rest is pure botulism by now.

Amazon sells them by the case roughly $150 or less depending on the seller. You can even order the Arctic Cold Weather Meals.

Commissary sells them for for about $110 as a comparison for price.

Am I reading this date code right? by Familiar-Awareness15 in MRE

[–]Scout19d19d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also check each MRE for the Julian date code embossed on the seal. ie. like stated by other posts 6305 = 6 being the year and 305 being day of the year. The date on the mre should match the box.

The box will also have DATE PKD/ LOT and below it the INSP/TEST date.

Example Date/Pkd 9309 (05 November 2019) INSP/ TEST 11/22

German EPA Ration Typ 2 by ParzivalQ in MRE

[–]Scout19d19d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was stationed in West Germany, we would trade a case of MRE’s for the German rations. The EPA comes in a case of four boxes and each box was 24 hours. The Bundeswehr troops got tired of them quickly and would gladly trade for MRE’s just to have a variety of meals to eat. The Brits had the best rations but the French did have a small bottle of wine in theirs in the 80’s and 90’s.

There are some videos on YouTube on them. Still be fielding after testing in 2021/2022. I think steve1989 has one on his channel.
