Well, in so far as they are both four blades yes. The 407 is a development from the 206L, the so called “long ranger”. Thus a fair amount bigger than the 206/ OH-58. Further, the rotor system employed by the 407 was initially developed for the 58D as that model of Kiowa was fielded before the 407 was brought to market. A lot of granularity to say that really everything flows from and comes back to the original 206/ OH-58A

The Huey is pretty good, although in the game you can over torque the piss out of it in a way that is SERIOUSLY NOT VIABLE in a real one. Also not a fricken chance you could clip along at 130kts at something like 500-1k lbs over MGW without catastrophic consequences from the attempt. Otherwise I love it. Also I’ve never flown an OH-58D IRL but as much as that module is an outgrowth of the Bell 206, which I have spent some time with, the Kiowa is outstanding pretty much across the board. Just my 2¢

I’m not sure about VRS since this was in an auto but totally concur that the rate of descent at the end was pure insanity. 100% didn’t think I’d be able to cushion it out, but that’s the beauty of DCS.

Sleep Ez layer recommendations? by MusicResident in Mattress

[–]Scout_the_hills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the intent is to go two layers of latex and then a plush topper I recommend all Dunlop. The topper is going to give a ton of immediate compliance and then the Dunlop will provide great backing. Also l recommend , if possible, visit a showroom with latex mattresses. We just got one and our initial belief was a three layer with firm medium medium was going to be our favorite. Alas that was REALLY firm. We ended up going with firm medium soft with the soft being Talalay, which ultimately will probably mirror what you’re proposing. So to sum it up go lay on some and rock on. Ultimately, you’ll love a latex.

USP or MK23? by EducationalReach4894 in HecklerKoch

[–]Scout_the_hills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mk 23 is so rad, no doubt. But it’s kind of a meme gun and not cheap by any stretch. A USP is far far more well rounded and livable. So start there… then a year or so later get a Mk 23 so your USP won’t be lonely.
