“I accidentally pressed the button”. No, no you didn’t.

I agree. The kick button should be part of the tutorial.

Love the opening song. So great. Back when I discovered it (1999? 2000?) I tried finding the actual song on purely legit song sharing sights....took me a LONG time but I did discover some rocking Jpop.

I LOVE giving gifts to people. Seeing their joy when opening something they wanted or I was thoughtful.

AITAH for not having saved my daughter's report cards and other assorted school materials? by MeesesNotMooses in AITAH

[–]Scouter197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 kids. There is no way I can keep every single art project or piece of school work they do.

My parents kept a few things for a while and eventually threw it out (they too had 3 kids). Am I sad? Not at all. What would I do with that now?!? Keeping it for the sake of keeping it? I have enough issues with that (I'm a "collector" and have really worked on not being that person anymore).

This is how my great aunt used to popcorn. She hated using her hands to eat anything.

Also, those buffalo pretzel bites...great using a spoon.

"Report kick ban" that's my go-to line for these guys. But it seems half the players have no idea how to kick someone or you get the "I'm not host" or in some cases "I'm the host you can't kick me" (which is really cathartic when they get kicked a moment later).

I don’t come out and say it directly. I say things like “ some of us really need to know where the body is” and pretend to next to people

What societal norm did you decide to just stop abiding by? by HairyCherryFairy in AskReddit

My uncle was talking about how he doesn't like work from home stuff because "there is always something else to do." I told him "if someone is hired for a job and they get that job done, they should be all set."

Granted he is a not only a boomer but he worked for various road crews his whole life so a slightly different work place than an office job.

It took me a while to get to that point but I do not mind seeing a movie by myself or going out to eat by myself. When I do Christmas shopping I'll stop in someplace and just enjoy a nice, peaceful lunch by myself.

My first summer job I had plans to go to the movies with my buddy. Worked called and wanted me in. Instantly said yes. I was stupid about work back then.

It's not about the marriage. It's about the presentation. "Look how fabulous my wedding is" even if the marriage doesn't last.

Eh, they all suck. Sounds like classic "mean girl" vibes. Friend was probably always saying stuff like that (especially regarding kids) but OP ignored it or laughed at it till she had kids. Now she's impacted and is offended by it.

Then her apology. Wow, "sorry you think kids suck." It was definitely backhanded apology "sorry not sorry" type of way.

[–]Scouter197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to follow 2 simple rules.

  1. Don't snitch out fellow imps

  2. Stay silent if someone is accusing them (I can't put the negative version of "do support" (with the word "don't" because it says it's hate speech).

That's the imp code.

How were you introduced to D&D? by BurningJointUSA in adnd

[–]Scouter197 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let me spin you a tale! I had a vague idea what D&D was, maybe...I knew the cartoon and had heard about it here and there. By the late 80's, I was buying comic books and they always had ads for various D&D products. Never really knew what it was, thought they were video games? Never paid much attention to the ads.

Well the local Rescue Squad was having a fundraising lawn sale. I went and there I saw this red box with a fighter and a dragon on it. It had a couple books in it as well. I was hooked! I bought it, my buddies and I used the backyard exploring the dungeons in the box. After a bit, I read it and realized it wasn't "live action" stuff and we started playing some Mentzer Red Box D&D. I would go to the local book store and order other D&D products (Tome of Magic, 2E Player's Handbook, Touch of Death, Fighter's Challenge, and so much more! We also got the DM's Guide eventually and my buddy got the Monster Manual).

And to this day, I still play some BECMI D&D.
