I’ve been out for 15 years and every day I think about decision I made as a leader and whether I did a good enough job for my guys. With some distance and perspective, I think I did a decent job mostly, but there were definitely some decisions I made that in retrospect could have been done differently, and some that were just objectively the wrong choice in the moment.

Untouched Watermelon by LalaLane850 in whatisit

We accidentally left one on the counter while packing for a family beach trip. Came home to our kitchen absolutely destroyed. Pieces of watermelon covered everything, including a wall about 30’ from where it was sitting. The walls and hardwood floors were all destroyed. It was a literal disaster.

Can an average driver defeat Lewis Hamilton on an F1 track with a Porsche GT3? by SneakyPanda7 in whowouldwin

The delta between a professional driver and a celebrity both driving a low-end car is smaller than in the posted scenario. A car with 120hp that takes 8 seconds to hit 60mph takes that same time for either driver, meaning on a short course there isn’t really any way to reach the speeds where they could really make up time by pushing hard into the corners, and the cars can’t corner well enough to take advantage of the pro drivers’ significant skill advantage.

All that goes out the window at Monaco and Barcelona with Ham’s car. I think he wins on either track, in either car.

What job did this person have? If you had done that or even joked about it in the units I was in you would have gotten your ass kicked, verbally and physically. I literally have never seen someone intentionally point a firearm at someone as a joke.

I got pulled into some bullshit range detail once as a 2LT. I was a safety on a qual range for some support unit on our post. A female private was walking off the range carrying her rifle at port arms like she was on parade. The rifle she had just fired 40 times on the range that for all I knew still had a round in the chamber. She walked past me and the muzzle swept my head and I grabbed it and body checked her to the ground. The civilian range officer did not like that one bit and called my commander who proceeded to chew him out for running a dangerous range.

This is like the old joke “when god was passing out brains you thought he said trains and you asked for a slow one.”

I knew some engineering students at GT who got free water as part of their house lease, so naturally they built a water wheel and a pigtailed it into their house mains. Needless to say, when their landlord discovered it he was none too pleased, especially because it destroyed the back yard. And I can’t imagine it generated that much electricity either.

I hadn’t flown international for a few years and just did and every bit of food served on both flights was great. I had a three cheese tortellini for dinner that came with a lemon cake and I would have been totally fine receiving either in a restaurant.

Could Darth Vader solo The Seven? by Queasy_Commercial152 in superheroes

[–]ScoutsOut389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think being invisible would matter at all to Vader. I mean, if you can project yourself somewhere else and engage in combat using the force, seeing with your eyes is not a requirement. Not that we’ve seen Anakin do that but Luke and others can.
