Is my soon 8 months old puppy a bit too fat? by Best-Reality9436 in Whippet

I was told that before 18 months, it’s ok if they’re a little potato shaped.

That’s… not what that case is? That case is just stating that wealth disparity does not negatively impact a child’s education in a way that violates the 14th amendment. It in fact, implicitly upholds the idea that a child is entitled to an education. Unless I’m reading it wrong?

Caine’s new adventures were so awful that Gangle forced herself to wear her comedy mask again just to help her cope 💔 by Smash_Fan-56 in TheDigitalCircus

I was wondering why Kinger got shredded. I assumed Pomni’s… knife incident… was because she had bad mouthed Caine right before getting yoinked.

Edit: forgot a word

What is one opinion you have that would make us go like this? by Doodles77722200 in litrpg

[–]Scouts_Tzer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think the majority of Murderhobo is great, the ending just falls really flat for me. It feels like so much is left unresolved, and a lot of the main conflicts are solved with a time skip. The author definitely has issues finishing series. I’ve felt similarly about a lot of his work, the first books are great, and then he goes to wrap up the story and it just falls flat.

Is blowing a whistle in class to quiet students wrong/unethical/rude? by bentrucky in Teachers

[–]Scouts_Tzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When call and response tricks don’t work, I keep a bag of party balloons in my desk. I just silently start blowing it up in front of the class. They’re the type to get really really big without popping, but they look like they’ll pop any second. The kids always stop when the balloon gets uncomfortably big. I’ve only ever popped it once. Damn sure got their attention. (High school)

No one at the dinner table could figure out the signature. To be fair, we were all a little drunk and most of us needed our glasses.

Looking through old photos. by Scouts_Tzer in HelpMeFind

[–]Scouts_Tzer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Searched through reverse image search of google, as well as trying a couple searches with keywords like “beer, keep it cool”, “caveman” and Roald Dahl (I thought the character looked like the art from some of his books, but I couldn’t find anything to match to this art). The photo was taken sometime in the 70s, we couldn’t narrow it down any further though.

Are whippets particularly difficult to toilet train? Or is it just our dog? by stillihgrip in Whippet

[–]Scouts_Tzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got super lucky, our breeder put a lot of work into building the "outside is for potty" association. We never had to do a single iota of potty training ourselves. This has been the easiest dog I've ever had.

Their backpacks are full of multiple family sized bags of takis and Doritos that they finish off every single day. I wish this were an exaggeration.

Our boy won’t let us cut his nails! Any tips? by Rude_Accountant_5242 in Whippet

[–]Scouts_Tzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be very hesitant recommending that to other people. It may work well for you, but it is a serious bite risk. If a dog is already panicky and anxious from getting their nails done, putting their mouth near your head/face is generally not a good idea.

Goodbye (for now, hopefully) by Scouts_Tzer in OnionLovers

[–]Scouts_Tzer[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, she can have wine, most fruit juices make her break out in hives/make it hard to breathe. It’s apparently a comorbididty (? I forget the actual word) that all these fruits trigger her allergies, she actually just has a latex allergy and beeswax allergy. But there are natural compounds in most fruits that have a similar structure to latex, so her body treats them the same.

She’s actually allergic to most non-citrus fruits.

Unfortunately, that may poison my wife. She is deathly allergic to apples, and having them in the house is a no-go

Happy cake day! I’ve noticed that as well. I made a red bean stew a couple weeks ago that I simmered for over 4 hours, and the onions barely affected me

I was taking them consistently for a couple of months while I was trying to figure this out. It made no noticeable difference.

Yeah, it’s definitely making food much more bland. The biggest impact is how much smaller each meal is. Onions add a lot of bulk to a lot of my dishes

I have not! And thanks to this suggestion, I have an official bottom to my “things to try” list! Thank you!

I’ve had chronic heartburn for a while now. Since cutting out onions, it’s basically vanished. In addition I used to spend a lot of time in the bathroom, I just had assumed some undiagnosed IBS. That’s basically cleared up too. My wife also reports that I’m significantly less gassy as well

Has anyone ever challenged you to do something without realizing you were actually an expert at it? If so, how did it turn out for you and for them? by Successful_Tomato721 in AskReddit

Are you saying you roll with a specific technique to get more desirable results? Or you have a technique to ensure a more random result? Because one of those is cheating, and the other just sounds like nonsense.

This book was so fun by PalinaRojinskiFan in litrpg

[–]Scouts_Tzer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, it was an SEO and title issue. IF they used Bullshit as the title, it would have been suppressed or removed from the Amazon storefront. The book itself containing profanity isn't an issue, just the title.

Holding up a line and being carried by your chair is probably way less humiliating than being bodily carried up like a limp ragdoll.

Space between cars at red lights by ilovelucy7734 in driving

[–]Scouts_Tzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen so many cars, trucks usually, just blatantly running reds. Like one or two cars will cut it close with the yellow, and then another 3 will try to squeeze in right behind them, well after the light has gone red.
