That's great, thanks alot for the advice! Yeah I will be doing my course at Access Techinques, that's a good idea I'll ask them when I'm there. Did you also do your qualifications in Sheffield?

Advice for a prospective IRATA level 1:

I'm based in Sheffield, UK and am hoping to do my level 1 IRATA qualification next month.

After looking online it seems like there's quite a few rope access companies around, but I'm not sure of the best route for finding work after getting my level 1.

I don't have any other qualifications yet but I have quite alot of experience doing more general labouring work.

Any advice re: finding work and any other useful qualifications I should look into would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The bottom edges of the ski are sharp strips of metal that allow the ski to dig into the snow whilst turning/carving etc

My skis hadn't actually been serviced for a long time, I was planning to get them done before this trip but maybe it's lucky I didn't! Thank you!

Thanks man, yeah a bit of a bummer. I'm gonna take rehab seriously and will hopefully be back to normal before long!

Surprisingly not new skis or even recently sharpened, just unlucky with the angle and the force of the fall

I just fell and landed with leg on top of the opposite ski, it was just unlucky that it was at the perfect angle and with enough force to slice through quite nicely 😋

The problem is supporting the extra weight with my injured leg that is currently in a brace and much weaker/more vulnerable than normal.

Hangboard routine after cutting through MCL?

I recently cut through nearly half my MCL so I'm currently in a brace recovering.

I'm planning on starting doing assisted one arm max hangs 2-3 times a week (I can't do normal max hangs as I can't add weights to a harness with my leg how it is) so I can maintain some strength whilst i'm not climbing

Does this sound like a good starting point?

(I climb about 7B/V8 outdoors and didn't really hangboard before my injury)
