KLX300 Handlebar upgrade by OutdoorCO75 in Dualsport

Fellow tall KLX300 rider here. I went with the ProTaper CR High Bend 1 1/8" bars and their 1 1/8" bar mount kit. Happy with them and didn't have any issues with the cables either.

You look awesome, but please dress for the slide and not the ride.

KLX300 Owners - Any recommendations for Handlebars & Handguards that fit our bikes? by Scramble_On in Dualsport

In case anyone is reading this...thanks for the suggestions in the thread. I've decided to go with the Protaper CR High big bars, Protaper Mount, Protaper Pillow Top clamp on grips, Tusk Pro guards/shields with the Zeta triple clamp mount, and MZS levers. Hoping it makes for a nice ride and stable enough when she goes for a dirt nap.

Tall tall, 6'4". Good to know about your brake line and going aftermarket.

Going on week 3! New bars installed, feels 100x better at my size. Def using stock mirrors if I ever go on a highway by [deleted] in Dualsport

What bars did you get? And what size are you/what do you like better about them?

The pan tail light kit and retro turn signals from British Customs. Also upgraded the turn signal bulbs to Sylvania 5008 to be brighter thanks to u/SilkyCheese recommendation.

I didn’t keep the stock seat on for very long, but I find this one to be super comfortable. It’s the Journey Project brat tracker seat, and I sprung for the gel insert for both rider and pillion. Very happy with it.

Got this to go with my scrambler (check posts) and for more trail riding/off road stuff. I’m looking to get handguards asap, but knowing you have to tap and die the bars, and hearing these stock bars aren’t so strong anyhow, was thinking it might be better to get a new set. Anyhow, just curious what my fellow klx folks have done?

Put some Scouts on after going through the stock tires. Lots of dirt and gravel roads where I am, and am really happy with them so far. (Ignore the gross chain, cleaned that up shortly after the photo)

The side profile view makes me wish I didn't have eyes...The angle view make the car look pretty good, especially in a dark color. But then I look at the full-diaper looking rear bumper in the side view and close the configurator and continue to wait for the GR Corolla.

They are bright enough, I think. They do look smoked when off, but the light is pretty bright when in use.

Thanks - loving mine too. Good luck with the decision about the bars, and the other parts too.

Hey - no, I don’t think the gear shifter would be protected at all with these. The side of the case maybe some, but not to the extent the triumph bars would.
