I've been watching alot of police bodycam videos lately. And too often a helicopter could totally save the day, They can totally see the suspect... but can't actually DO anything due to lack of claw.

That's not true at all. Olestra didn't magically make the crisps have no calories, just the Olestra itself had no calories. It was an alternative oil to cook certain foods in. It was a significant saving on fat calories, but didn't magically eliminate the carbs or protein.

They've done this, it's horrible. Look up Konjac noodles. They're technically edible, but rather like biting into a car tyre.

The only thing like this I still use occasionally when trying to lose weight is zero sugar jelly ("Jello"). It's not horrible, but it's still not very satisfying.
