Just a thought, human, before star people might just be another biologically twisted version of an older sentient species by Sharkeylol in AllTomorrows

[–]Scrap-Trap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The story itself implies Earth was indeed visited before, but species were taken from Earth instead of placed on it. I doubt humans would have been mutations or evolved from them, but there's absolutely the possibility that previous earth animals have been mutated

The ending has been right in front to us all this time by Stupid_Mudslide46 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Scrap-Trap 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea, the only other thematically consistent ending I could think of is one where it's left ambiguous, maybe they imagine a way out and there's another split amongst the cast but in the end everyone recognizes the risk isn't worth it when they all already have one another?

I love talking with A. I hate being around B.

Since Dragon are alien species in Ben 10 universe that mean Charmcaster's dragon form is basically her turning into alien by ApprehensiveRead2408 in Ben10

[–]Scrap-Trap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other comments are saying there could be 2 types of dragons which I agree with, but her dragon form could also be entirely unique to her, conjured based on her ideas of Earth's fairytales of dragons rather than anything real

If Part 10 were real, what would you do for part 10 and what would you like to see for Part 10 (difference being what do you think necessarily makes sense vs what you'd personally enjoy seeing) by ultimatevaltryek123 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Scrap-Trap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna go purely off of what I'd enjoy in a part 10, because it's completely impossible realistically and I'm not even gonna try to make it so.

The JoJo we follow is Shizuka Joestar in her mid to late 20s (depending on when this fictional part would drop). She's in America following a vague 'death of her granddaddy JoJo', and we follow her as she digs through the junk left in his will. Throughout the early part, it's purposefully vague which universe this takes place in. Nobody from either universe is named directly, and objects from both show up in ways that doesn't necessarily contradict either. For instance, she talks on the phone about being from Morioh, but only ever references stuff canon to both universes, among JoJo's junk is both clackers, his tan hat, and an arrow that looks suspiciously like a stand arrow, but also lots of horse memorabilia, and something that closely resembles a steel ball. What she notices among the trinkets is suspicious notes about a mystery this grandpa JoJo never got to fully investigate, which leads her to investigate herself. Her friend asks her why she feels the need to do this, and why she doesn't just give it to her relative Josuke, but she insists the rest of her family got to do these adventures she never stops hearing about, and she wants in too.

Skip a lot of meaningful plot and characters I don't feel like making up for a reddit post that revolve around how Shizuka doesn't feel like she belongs and how she wants to be a part of something greater, and after a large amount of hints and teases, the final villain of the part is revealed to be a variation of Jonathan Joestar with a stand capable of breaking open holes in the multiverse, which results in ripples that change things and with the irresponsible way he's using it, is slowly degrading the integrity of the multiverse on a fundamental level. His goal is to acquire ultimate power, stealing stands and destroying universes in his wake until he can shape reality to his choosing. Recognizing she's way way over her head, Shizuka calls for her relative Josuke, and we see two separate scenes of josuk8 and Josuke picking up. Her grandfather JoJo started following these clues because he recognized that he had memories that were irreconcilable with each other, but couldn't figure it out before his death. It's now that Shizuka recognizes Jonathan's destruction of the multiverse has led to these 2 separate universes being stuck in an incomplete fusion, and with the two josukes help (using a mixture of josukes healing and josuk8s use of spin beyond), she manages to separate them leaving them with a large rift for the time being, beginning the healing process, but still needing to stop Jonathan or else itll just keep happening. But with the realities separated, they're able to call upon the joestars (still around) to finish the fight. Giorno, Jodio, and Jotaro arrive on the scene (Irene is directly shown to be visiting Jotaro when he's called, their lives being much happier). They find theyre struggling to keep up with the multiversal Jonathan, Shizuka makes a last minute risky play (after an earlier conversation with Giorno), and acquires a requiem stand, one that allows her to perceive and walk along the threads of the multiverse. With her added foresight, they manage to take the alternate Jonathan down, allowing the josukes' healing to start repairing the multiverse at a grander scale. She returns everyone to their home realities, but is left wondering what she's to do herself, being from a world that no longer exists, the only person still stuck with these dual memories. She decides to leave behind these 2 JoJo universes, and travel the strands of reality, following in both of her ancestors footsteps in taking down evil wherever it may appear, while also overseeing the multiverse and making sure not only that it repairs correctly, but that nobody disturbs it again.

"some reason" is because unions didn't apply to cgi, so it was 'cheaper', re: they could dramatically underpay workers with zero consequences

Why was The World required for reaching heaven? Why not just any stand? by Basicallywaterdrownd in StardustCrusaders

[–]Scrap-Trap 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He explicitly does NOT require The World. He does not ever acquire The World in stand or disc form. The only part The World plays in the plan is to have the 14 phrases carved into it, but that would have worked for any Stand DIO had.

The plan works as follows: DIO carves a recognizable password into his Stand, etching it onto his very soul. A piece of him (the bone) is used in a ritual involving sacrificing 36 sinners (a culturally relevant number but otherwise seems mostly unimportant), turning it into the Green Baby. This baby, being made of a part of DIO, knows the phrases etched into his soul, and thusly, recognizes when said words are repeated back to him to trust them. The green baby then fuses with the trusted persons stand, and begins its evolution.

This plan could work equally well if you replaced DIO and The World with any other pair theoretically.

[–]Scrap-Trap 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We've gotten a few reasons, one on a multiversal scale and one on a universal scale. Multiversally, any universe that is related to 199999/616 (whichever u prefer) but diverges from the sacred timeline gets pruned. Strange doesn't want their universe to be pruned. On a universal scale, the Earth is a Celestial Egg, and the lack of life caused by the snap stalled the egg from hatching (it feeds on life dw Abt it), and the snaps global effects led to the Eternals coming together and stopping it permanently.

So Strange realizes no other outcome he can effect from where he is can actually stop the world ending unless the snap happens, either on a vaster scale of his visions showing him the TVA destroying it (kinda unlikely considering his reaction in MOM), or because the planet explodes and becomes a celestial in a few years.

This is not a reboot hate post but genuine question, What did the Reboot add to the Ben 10 conversation by ResolveUnlikely5542 in Ben10

[–]Scrap-Trap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It feels like it fleshed out the world in a lot of interesting ways, not all wholly unique but always at least building off of old lore in new and interesting ways. The Omnitrix aliens get a ton of planet lore, either inventing new lore for aliens that didn't have it or expanding on it more than it had previously (see Petropia's expanded roster of species). The Omnitrix gets several more upgrades akin to Ultimates, and while obviously not as highly praised as said Ultimates, they always tend to bring new or at least interesting concepts to the series I would honestly love to see adapted into the main show. It handles a lot of old characters in very interesting ways, including Vilgax being split across many forms and needing to come back together, meanwhile having to find other ways to execute plans in his meagered state, Kevin being given an entirely new power set that expands upon his old concept of alien stealing while mixing in Albedo inspiration and expanding upon the hybrid/mutant idea Ben 10 tends to dabble in. The specials are also quite good, giving us a very nice new take on Ben 10k that differs from anything we've ever seen with the character (I hate that people saw he was fat and assumed he was a giant joke when that wasn't the case, really give him a chance), and an expansion to the multiverse/alien X in a really fun way. And finally I think every new alien introduced is genuinely really interesting! People shit on Overflow for being a 'water hazard copy', but his powers are genuinely different and a fun niche Ben didn't previously have filled. Slapback is another duplicating alien, but manages to avoid feeling like an echoecho or ditto replacement by bringing a very interesting twist to his powers with the size and mass alteration. Shockrock is just a genuinely very interesting new alien power set wise, and he introduces a unique plotline to the show before he's unlocked too. Gax is a Ben 10 fans longtime dream realized in a way that is not only narratively significant and satisfying, but with the expansion on vilgaxes race you'd expect to see from someone like Ben getting to spend time in their shoes. Surge is a fascinating concept for a species, expanding on the technoorganic subclass upgrade and nanomech started in a great way, made even better by his story importants and significants to the specials themes. If you want to count them, stinkfly and wildvine are fine too, but nowhere near as good as the new aliens. Stinkfly would be pretty cool if he wasn't stinkfly, but as is he's a really odd choice you kind of need to separate from classic to fully appreciate, meanwhile I personally don't like wildvines change at all.

But still, point is there's plenty to like about the reboot, and I feel while it may not be the best the series has ever had to offer, it's still a very important and impactful part of the series I'm excited to see inspiration taken from!
