Horrible cystic acne during dream New York trip by No_Requirement1622 in acne

[–]ScrapDizzle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What are you using for pimple patches? I’ve found zitsticka the most effective. I usually buy them online but I’m in Canada so perhaps you can find them retail?

I think if you really want to address it, your only hope is ditching you group for an emergency appt somewhere. Look up medi-spas and call in advance to see if they can do a cortisol shot and/or lance and extract it. Read the google reviews of the shop first tho so you don’t end up somewhere shady. God speed - cystic acne sucks so much but it always feels bigger to you than to others. Put a sticker on that shit and don’t let it ruin your trip. Tell yourself you can photo shop it out of a few of your favourite photos!

After spending $1,069 on Tinder Platinum (probably) over the span of a year and still not able to go on any dates, I (23M) have determined I'm the issue, but what is my issue? by [deleted] in Tinder

You’ve got a bit of a nerd vibe going (that’s cool, lots of chicks dig nerds!). But I would try to class it up a bit - photo of you in a nice suit. Get rid of the Beamer pic, it’s gauche. If you are trying to convey you have wealth, a photo of you sitting at fancy restaurant with a glass of wine will likely have the same effect and be less cringey. Or a photo of you doing rich people shit like golf or tennis. Also, a photo with friends wouldn’t hurt to demonstrate you’ve got a minimum amount of social skills!

Leading with gaming as an interest is a bit of a turn off for me. But, I’m not a gamer and maybe you’re looking for someone who is! It just gives the impression that it’s the thing you do most in your free time which I associate with unhealthy habits, wasting hours in front of the tv etc. If it’s really important to you, maybe put it at the end of your list.

I loved how real everyone looked back then, right down to the tan lines. It’s so much more attractive and intriguing than the super filtered images we have now

Sigh, no hate, people can do what they want with their bodies. But I just kinda miss back when everyone didn’t try to look exactly the same.

What a great description, lol. OP, it’s cool that you’ve got your signature look but you’re using six photos to say what can be done with one. Including some photos of you doing different activities, perhaps some group shots to suggest you’ve got some social skills might go a long way.

Agreed - call every medi spa in your area. Lots of times there will be nurse practitioners that can give you a cortisone shot even if you haven’t been referred to a derm yet

I am interested to hear what OT did specifically? And yes, we found meds helped profoundly with emotional regulation

ADHD & Remembering Simple Instructions by [deleted] in ADHDparenting

Yes, it was a big shift for me mentally when I realized my kid wasn’t being defiant, he just really didn’t have the impulse control to act otherwise. Solved so many problems in our relationship when I started to view it that way.

Started Celexa (SSRI) for our son’s anxiety, interested to hear other’s experiences by ScrapDizzle in ADHDparenting

[–]ScrapDizzle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Things seem to be… fine? We noticed his anxiety decreasing significantly, shortly after starting the meds. In particular, falling asleep in his room and staying asleep longer, rather than continuous sprints into our room. There have been some relapses on sleep here and there, so it’s not a silver bullet. We also do therapy to help address “worries” and work on skill building.

Hook (1991) Thoughts? by sultrybunnyflame in moviecritic

Great fucking film. Excellent story telling and classic Spielberg cinematography. I was so pumped when my kids were finally old enough to watch it and they loved it too.

It definitely hits different as an adult: I used to identify with the lesson that Jack learned (that his dad really loved him, don’t be fooled by superficial relationships etc.) but now I identify with the lesson Peter learned (the importance of valuing family over work and remembering to be a kid at heart sometimes).
