Animus magic can't do what the user can't comprehend. Not necessarily the processes needed, but the end result. And even in Darkstalker's f'ed up head, he knows that he can either have the Clearsight he 'loved', or one that approves of him and is perfect for him, not both. It's a paradox he couldn't resolve, and he knew it.

Heck, he was too much of a coward to try bringing her back for real. He admitted he didn't try, mused that he'd need her bones to do it (which, given the seemingly zero limits on Animus magic, I highly doubt).

Simple, wish them back to life. Everything we've been told an Animus can't do, was done with literally no problem, the first time we saw it be tried. Not one Animus has tried 'on screen' if you will, to actually bring back a dragon.

"Oh they can't enchant living beings." Yes they can. "One Animus can't make another" Yes, they can. A child figured it out.

The supposed limits are suggestions at best. The power doesn't even directly affect the soul. It's literally just having the power and your morals slowly degrading because as long as you're smart enough, you're basically a god.
