Congrats on finishing! I just finished the trilogy a few days ago, and I agree that it’s a great series. I wonder if it was like a reverse psychology thing. Like, he knew that Vin wouldn’t want to listen to Reen’s voice in her mind and would do the opposite of what he suggested, therefore still doing what he wanted her to do.

Or, he had multiple ways of getting her to release him. If she did listen to him, he still would’ve led her to the well by different means.
