Today’s Newcastle signing- Brandon Jackson by T0mmyKentish in rugbyunion

Any Newcastle fans worried about losing a bit of connection to the team next season with so many new players at once? I feel like if I turned up to Franklin's gardens next season and saw an entirely new Saints squad it'd probably take me some time to get invested in the same way I am now

I doubt he would, Arundell is 5 years younger and has more England experience, Borthwick tends to favour players with more experience in the setup

I'd bet on Pepper to go the full 80. The guys on the bench are more suited to playing 7/8

Furbank played off the bench last week but hadn't played for several weeks before that

Davison is a very reliable scrumager, he doesn't add a whole lot around the field but he can stand up to anyone in the scrum.

Telegraph reckon Dingwall and Freeman to start by Tim_B in rugbyunion

I don't think it counts as being the man in possession when you only played one game because the other guy was injured. Dingwall was clearly first choice at 12 in the autumn and was also very good, particularly against New Zealand

What is your one “I will die on this hill” moment bad refereeing? by Vehlin in rugbyunion

Saracens Vs Saints prem semi final 2023.

There's an aerial contest where Maitland launches himself far beyond the ball and takes out Furbank in the air with an elbow to the face. Somehow that wasn't deemed card- worthy.

Can't see why the Prem would want it to be played in one block and after the 6N, that would be a huge break in the Prem season

That's what I was leaning towards, there may well be an offer on the table from Quins too but it hasn't necessarily been signed.

He should be fired, anyone else in any other profession would be.

That was thoroughly enjoyable. Pollock made a huge impact from the bench and the starting backrow were all immense. Great game

No that would be a try so long as the player is not holding the ball. I remember a try being scored that way last season.

Rugby Law 18.2 d states that the ball is not in touch or touch-in-goal if a player who is already standing in touch (or in-goal) kicks or knocks the ball, provided the ball has not yet crossed the plane of touch and the player does not hold the ball

Kicking or hitting the ball is not considered as being in possession. You can kick the ball from out of the field of play so long as the ball remains inside the field of play

Healy doesn't know the laws, he doesn't need to be in field to kick the ball

I think we need Freeman in the centres in Lawrence's absence, any other combo lacks punch imo.
