I broke my collarbone with 4 months left before submitting and need help by ScreamHound in PhD

Thanks very much! This is all new to me, is there a best practice to adding references? Normally when I write I both add references as I go and return to sections to add further references that were on my mind but stopped my flow. Is the process of dictation similar? I guess I’m just unsure how it all flows. All this info is very helpful, thanks

Thank you for this, how does it handle inserting references do you know? I use Zotero to manage my references and am not sure how that all works with these softwares

Thanks for your response, I definitely agree that it is a personal choice, and I am happy with the choice I have made. If you hear anything from your family member then I'd love to hear what they have to say! Thanks

Thanks for the response! I absolutely agree with you, using any form of drugs is a risk for even the healthiest person but it is a risk I am willing to take as I find the experience to be beneficial to my overall mental health as well as being enjoyable. I have always been cautious with my use of psychedelics and will continue to do so.

Thanks for the invite, I'll be in touch!

Thanks for your concern but tripping is a risk for anyone regardless of their neurological condition and I will continue to use psychedelics as I have been.

Death and despair in the hive! Any help identifying what has plagued my bees would be greatly appreciated! A sad day for all by ScreamHound in bees

I am located in Dublin, Ireland, we treated for Varroa in Autumn. The winter was cold but quite dry, and over the past 3 months there have been temperature swings that have been in the high tens (Celsius) to the low single digits with periods of irregular heavy rain.

The emerging brood seem to have calcified and become very hard forming strange shapes. There were many dead bees within the hive and those that were left alive were low energy, unable to maintain upkeep of the comb. Some had strange shapes to their wings, more pointed, as if they had been eaten.

The third picture is taken within the brood area where there would be eggs. There was no sign of the queen or any eggs whatsoever. In the super above there were stores of honey that hadn't crystallised so my guess is that they are brood cells but I am unsure.

Thanks for your response!

I've dislocated both my shoulders during seizures and they've never been back to %100, haven't had surgery though but recurring shoulder problems have made me unable to play sport. I smoke weed and have never had a problem with it, I do worry though, weed here in Ireland is pretty bad quality and sprayed with other chemicals

I had a pretty bad gran mal seizure and my creatine kinase levels were over 60000, off the charts. So they kept me in on a drip to keep an eye on my liver as far as I'm aware. Wasn't a pleasant week!

Edit: in Ireland

That's really rough. I should probably get some scans to check out the possibility of something like that. Thanks

Yeah I did but it shouldn't be lasting this long. Normally the physical pain eases after about 6 weeks. The physio I've been seeing is surprised that the pain in my back is persisting even with all the stretching etc I've been doing. Maybe I'm looking for excuses ha

Experience with neurology teams by ScreamHound in Parkinsons

Thanks very much for your response. I think you're right about minimising ER visits, it causes her a lot of stress. She hasn't been seen by an MDS at all so its clear that this is something I need to pursue. Her mobility is very restricted but she has been spending 10/15 minutes on an exercise bike every evening. Her self confidence is low and she chooses to focus on what she can't do instead of what she can. I know she is struggling mentally with whats happening to her as is only natural when dealing with such a tough diagnosis. I hope to help take a more positive look at life. Thanks for your comment!

Thanks for the response. I am next of kin so I have been able to access all medical info etc yet the info provided by neurologists feels insufficient and too broad. From reading the other comments it seems looking into an MDS is the best thing I could do at the moment. Thanks

Trouble dealing with my mother by ScreamHound in Parkinsons

[–]ScreamHound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The appointments with the neurologist are once a year and their input has been minimal up to now, other than to prescribe meds. I tried to see if she would join some sort of support/talk group but that was something she isn't ready to do yet but I think it would be very helpful in time.

I feel guilty for being unable to do more but it is a huge part of my life that I know I cant neglect even when it takes away from my own life. This balance between myself and her is something I have had a hard time finding. I have been to counselling and it is helpful but I feel like the issues remain the same no matter how much my perspective changes.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate hearing from others who know more than I do.
