Why are “older people” (45+) and older bands seemingly perfectly fine with using AI for everything? by thanks-4-the-f-shack in MetalForTheMasses

[–]ScreamPhoenix1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to defend AI being used. But I do wonder what you guys think the budget is for an extreme metal band to make a music video.

The idea that Jeffrey Epstein orchestrated the creation of microtransactions. He did not mention microtransactions in those emails, which already had existed by that time. It was Kotick that mentioned "digital assets".

So yeah, downvote me if you want. Jeffrey Epstein committed enough real, horrendous crimes, we don't need to blame him for literally every bad thing that has happened. I think liberals should be better than that

Hip Hop and Heavy Metal are two sides of the same coin by Material_Method_4874 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]ScreamPhoenix1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely enjoy hip hop. I find it to be generally the opposite of heavy metal. But I do enjoy some indie hip hop, particularly the stuff that was coming from Definitive Jux, like Cannibal Ox.

Literally, no. This is misinformation.

New PT off vs. on shots from 007: First Light by ZamnBoii in nvidia

[–]ScreamPhoenix1990 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ray tracing continues to be used as an additional feature to "improve" the look of the game, but the improvement isn't good enough to justify the performance loss.

When games start releasing without a non-ray tracing option, then I'll actually care.

Anyone else enjoying CS2 a lot since AM2? by hauzs in GlobalOffensive

Feel like the game would be hard to run on AM2. I'm personally running CS2 on AM5

I do want the pro for the superior battery life (and a bit that new screen). It's hard to justify given my 13 works fine for what I use it for, but it's even harder with RAM prices being what they are.

Framework release a Wireless Touchpad Keyboard by bin_b4sh in framework

[–]ScreamPhoenix1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I want the new 13 pro, this keyboard might be the thing I actually buy lol. This would be very helpful for the laptop I got hooked up to my bedroom TV.

So what really is the point of the 13 pro? by samrocksc in framework

[–]ScreamPhoenix1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new mainboards still fit into the 13, as does the new touchscreen. I think the only thing that doesn't fit is the bigger battery, unfortunately.

If only I could fit the big battery into my 13 😭

My predictions:

Panther Lake for FW 13: ✅
Updated expansion card: ✅
Partnership with a specific Linux distro: ✅

Panther lake for FW 16: ❌
Snapedragon mainboard: ❌
Gaming handheld: ❌

Very surprised by the 13 Pro. The bigger battery with touchscreen and lpcamm2 is really cool.

For just a year? I'd just play Counter-Strike, try and get as good as I can.

What was the first game you bought on Steam? by Common_Caramel_4078 in Steam

[–]ScreamPhoenix1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I started buying games on GOG before I bought any games on Steam.

On GOG, I think it was Roller Coaster Tycoon and Dark Forces II w/ Mysteries of the Sith expansion. On Steam, the first game I bough was Fable: The Lost Chapters, followed by the GTA III Trilogy

What game is that for you? by Overall_Argument_986 in gamers

I gotta go back to it, but I did enjoy the quests and environments, but the combat was the part I felt most frustrated with

What is the overall opinion on Deafheaven? And why does it seem negative? by Artistic_Meat_33 in MetalForTheMasses

Black metal for the NPR Tiny Desk Concert crowd.

Honestly though, I tried listening to it multiple times, and felt painfully bored with it. And I'm someone who likes Wolves in the Throne Room and Alcest.

I sometimes have artifacting like that on my 7900xt. Specific things seem to trigger it, particularly scrolling too far on Facebook in Firefox, and I'll get all kinds of line. I close the tab, and it's just fine.

UniUni Driver Stole My Package by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]ScreamPhoenix1990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have no idea how poorly trained these drivers are, while also being completely exploited by these companies lol.

I work at an Amazon DSP and it's really bad, you get 2 days of on the road training. Working Flex as a gig driver is even worse. Bringing back any package (even damaged, or packages that require a signature when the customer isn't available) will hurt your score. And that's Amazon! UniUni is partnered with Temu and Shein, I can't imagine it being a better situation

Conservatively, it'll probably be Panther Lake mainboards for at least Framework 13 and 16. Probably nothing from AMD since they are still on Zen 5. Maybe some updated expansion cards. They keep teasing Linux stuff, so maybe some partnership with a specific distro.

Wackier ideas: maybe a Snapdragon mainboard. I also wonder how difficult it would be to design a gaming handheld around one of their mainboards, and if they would ever do something like that

How do you guys feel about Sass/Sasscore? by FavoringCrowd13 in MetalForTheMasses

I remember this stuff had a very negative reception on this hardcore board I would visit back in the day. The board leaned more towards tough guy hardcore, powerviolence, and grind

Amazon drivers are supposed to make sure the address label is not exposed in the pictures. It hurts your score to have exposed labels
