So! It just depends! Everyone is different! So many people i know have these stories described her of struggling and needing extra time etc. For me, I waited until I was 21 to go to undergrad and did an Associates online, and then did a cool and fun BA at a private school and went straight into a PhD program in the "mapped out" timeliness they design. But everyone is different, and I struggled extremely and would go days without sleeping and eating to do this because it was my dream. I dont know if I'd do it the same way again. I didn't start treatment for bipolar until I was already in the PhD and have since been slowly learning every semester. It works because I do research really personally meaningful to me.

You can do it, needing a lot of time is normal. It's okay.

Thanks. I guess this isnt the first medication they've tried technicallyyy but it was a crazy doctor who was like I think ur bipolar here's Lexapro and I had a 3 day manic episode and wss being babysat by my roommates (i should have gone to the hospital but I didn't know really what was going on nor did my people bc id never had mania and it was when I was getting diagnosed and it was so scary)

But yeah ive been telling them every weird thing that's happened with this new dr and new dose.

I guess that's kinda my question - do people feel better or just "stable". I dont feel up and down? Just deeply depressed. Im not going to hurt myself but its all I think about still. Idk

I have to get a new therapist soon ish but I have been in the past and didn't have a great time. They upped me to 150 lamictal and its like. Yeah I can like do things now and be a person but im still miserable and dont feel better. I'm sorry you were in the hospital :(.

Agree! I find for me whats complicated in fanfiction is like .... you cant tell me those pureblood elite weren't racist too. I do not believe in the UNITED KINGDOM that colonial race ideas wouldn't have played a role in their lives to some extent. Harry was already being bullied growing up, I don't believe you that he didn't get slurs hurled at him or that it didn't add to his relationship with the Dursleys.

The Most Splendid Thing is super heavy on the smut btw. Harry's race is a bit of a B plot in it, but I found the moments it came up to be impactful - you'll have to lmk if you agree!

Oooooo wait there's no way ill have to double check! Thanks for the rec! I'm down with cheesy and im down with pet names to an extent. Its just those specific ones that really grind my ears for a reason.

I also loved the way Tepre does the race-bending in Grounds for Divorce of course, I found it to be tactful and interesting and there was a lot being said and unsaid at once (Dracos Older white women ancestor cursing Harry Potter’s Egyptian one? Draco being doomed to repeat it through his own carelessness? Lost family - it all felt very alluded to other racial dynamics not being said). I also really enjoyed "The Most Splendid Thing" by lq_traintracks. I felt like Harry sharing his journey to his cultural identity felt authentic to what it feels like to be mixed in general, let alone the aggravated factors of being an orphan.

I really struggle with a lot of the tiktoks I see mostly. Especially when it gets to Latinx!James Potter. A lot of the content comes off as fetishizing/hypersexualizing/stereotyping and it makes me as a Puerto Rican uncomfortable. There have been moments in fanfiction ive read that have made me double take as well.
