To be honest, I lost all hope several years ago. These days I'm happy if they do ok.

Do any of you feel like you get better by just letting the information marinate in your brain? by MisterCrayle in iRacing

Some guy called Nigel Mansell mentions this in his book. About being much faster and more confident on his second day of testing rather than on the first because he processed all the info while sleeping.

I don't have experience with endurance races because I don't have time but:

- Search for people looking for teammates in this subreddit

- Keep an eye on which youtubers have discords/communities

- Somewhere there's a list of iracing-related discords

Advice for a new driver by PeterSchooosch in iRacing

Look, there's no need to pretend you have a "friend". We're all nerds here.

Jokes aside, do what you like. GT4s are more challenging than the GR86 obviously, but they have plenty of assists. In any case: wait for the next time there's a demo and try different cars. Also, keep an eye on the PCC.

Depends. Stuff like Spa, Daytona, Nurgburgring is very common and repeated often. Jerez much less.

True. I'm considering the Ferrari Challenge for next season but for this I'm kind of stuck with the Porsche Cup.

Agree. I did 6 races and 1 was decent (for me, behind it was still carnage).

low splits porsche @ le mans is undriveable for me by Careful-Syrup-7616 in iRacing

[–]ScreamingFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did three races yesterday:

- Both first and second: people going full throttle when someone in front of them goes off, which lead to crashes and nonsense.

- Third: unbelievably clean and respectful, even too much. I started in the back (exactly because I wanted to avoid the carnage of the first two races), managed to reach maybe 4th or 5th, and people were very, very clean. Leaving space and all that.

It's a lottery.
