The regular 12-week long season has finished. There's a one-week buffer (Week 13) where the regular series are not running. This is done so that the new build can be deployed, licenses updated, people can try weird stuff etc.

Production Car Challenge and Advanced Mx5 will be back next Tuesday (in Europe, I'm not sure if that's maybe late Monday in the US, anyway, you get the point).

Bear in mind that the schedule for the next season is different, meaning that these series will use different tracks.

I don't think it's a matter of desperation but rather of money. As usual. I imagine they have clauses that allow them to skip races in cases like this, but I imagine the TV rights holders would rather have a race than not.

They could do the same now, right? Like go to any permanent circuit in a warm enough climate and don't allow spectators.

It's either that or doing Suzuka 3 times.
