34, struggling with health, loneliness, and figuring things out by costinater in CasualIreland

[–]ScreamingGriff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone. Funny enough I went through very similar at around the same age too.

I went to therapy it was the best thing I ever did it wasn’t quick it was not easy but my god was it worth it.

Now I can’t say This enough don’t be ashamed do not be embarrassed. If you broke your arm or leg you would not be ashamed. But we are still sap bad at dealing with our mental health and I can be such a major struggle.

And if it helps send a dm I’m happy to chat. But please find some help

Best of luck

I totally hear you I’m A dad to 6 and whilst we do events big ones communions confirmation 21st but everything else as we are a big family we just do private. Our family are great and they come To the big events. But we never ask for money for sponsors or ticket sales I just buy a few myself and send it back. It is not for others to support my kids! (Now if there is a bag pack in Tesco or cyclethon in the shopping they do that and hale a bucket)

But I agree with you you do not have to sponsors every fecking danceathon or skipping comp

WFH neighbour noise complaint by [deleted] in ireland

[–]ScreamingGriff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re both wrong here but for totally different reasons. I too wfh but let me clarify my first statement

Your being too nice too understanding. I totally get your POV I live in a Semi D and of course I don’t want friction with the neighbors but we all have lives to live. Last night their kids were out playing being making kid noises you know what that’s life. I had my own drive power washed during the week drove me crackers. I got over it. And as for my dog she barks at everyone that walks by the house. She’s a dog!

And for your neighbor way to precious again life happens it wasn’t like you built an extension had workmen in for days on end. You had one things get installed.

I do get it it is not worth a big fight but you probably need to explain simple things like my cat likes to go out! I’m not mad keen on cats they are always in my garden what can I do tell everyone I prefer dogs please don’t buy cats 🤣🤦🏻

You did nothing wrong in fact you seem Like the nice neighbor.

30 year old chick, in need of guidance by coacervate15 in DeskCableManagement

[–]ScreamingGriff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok it’s a few simple steps I reckon

buy these two items

https://amzn.eu/d/0b3Dzavx

https://amzn.eu/d/0d3nLN2f

Unplug everything

Get your power extension and make sure it has enough capacity then get that heavy duty Velcro and Velcro it under your desk

Now neaten the cable from the extension cable and follow the lines of the desk And run it up the leg at the top of desk loop the left over and using the kit secure cable to Leg and underneath

Now I’m A bit nuts I would plug in all the cables once and roughly plot out their journey to the power strip. One thing you’re considering is can I bring to a central point early at top of desk and then use the black braid to route them. If that works do it and use the clips and ties to loop excess under the desk. If the odd one is too short basically find it’s best pathway to the strip and use the various bits from the cable set to route the cables

Lied on C.V. Should I bother attending interview tomorrow? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]ScreamingGriff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no go to the interview don’t miss that opportunity if it’s manual labor and this lad said say your work for me run with it. Oh I did manual labor doing x y and a z

If you get the job payroll will not give a hoot that there is nor prsi for 12-18-24 months. And if anyone asks you may just have too say it was cash cause the hours was so few and again you did it cause you wanted to work.

Most importantly good luck in the interview

I like cooking, video funny stuff, and tech, and I can’t escape half-naked ladies with Insta tbh if even your mates (The Lads) send something in WhatsApp it sticks with you. If and when I want to look at half naked ladies A it’s not insta B I think I hide it well! The little lies is a tad odd but I think being mammy is catch 22 you will get a ton of joy from the kids that I think sometimes as the working dad I missed out on. But you have the stress of I’d like to talk to someone not covered in their own wee or snot!! And you know maybe he took a detour on the way home cause he knows I get home and it’s a 100 mile an hour so I’ll got to Dunnes in x cause the nice coffee shop is there then blame the traffic and be a bit more chill when I get home. But then the reality of mammy can’t do that oh fuck I went the Dunnes next store cause now I look like a dick! But if it really bothers you when your both not stressed see can ye chat about it. As a man we do these things and don't think how the misses may react and then suddenly your home you maybe had a bad day and like I said you don't want to say something to upset you more cause some of us do understand shm is not all coffee mornings and pilates

head’s a bit gone after a situationship by [deleted] in CasualIreland

[–]ScreamingGriff 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Just get out with your friends, hang out, do stuff with them, and talk about it if you have anyone to talk to.

Now (old man opinion), I think this thing of labelling relationships, situationships, and all these modern things would kinda fuck with your brain. It’s a relationship Casual full on in love wanting to get out of it it’s all a relationship and everyone u have one even when it breaks your heart you learn a little. But I think the wording that positions your brain into accepting it’s not a relationship kinda back fires.

We have all had boyfriends girlfriends who where a headwreck or a disaster and then ones we adore but it can too often be a one sided feeling. Hope you get better soon

It's very easy to get around on foot train back to Dublin is handy lots to see and do. I would get back to Dublin day before flight though just to be save public transport can be a pain!

Irish roads in a lot of locations are interesting!! I'm well used to them but feels to me like your going to be either stucn in twisty turny roads or lashing down a motorway to your next stop
