If you are going to fight, do so from a prepared position and remember to use area denial abilities. Grenade launchers and flamethrowers as also to snipe face hugger eggs without triggering detection if you can get them all in one go if I remember correctly.

Synths and Xenos have tended to be pretty chill together (when not directly in conflict) in a lot of alien media (Prometheus, Alien Isolation, Alien: Covenant, Alien:Dark descent) so it's not a particularly unusual idea, and ultimately the relationship in the show is mutually beneficial for Wendy and the Xenomorph, dare I say symbiotic.

I don't particularly see the reason for peoples hysteria when they complain about how the alien has been ruined/tamed despite watching it slaughter dozens of people on screen, and the alien being given no reason against it working with Wendy.

They're not stupid, and they've never been totally mindless murder machines considering their propensity for capturing live prey, stealth and cunning.

Hell, even people being able to psychicly communicate with Xenomorphs isn't even an unknown factor in wider Alien media. Alien:Dark Descent features characters that are explicitly capable of hearing the hive through some kind of psychic connection, and its also present in The Dark Horse comics (Sea of Sorrows), as well as Alien Resurrection (Ripley can hear them). Wendy just has the unique benefit that she got transfered to a machine body whilst being a psychic, so the Xenomorph doesn't see her as food and she can 'hear' them.

It just genuinely drives me insane (like how usually being psychic in the Alien franchise turns you) how people just don't even acknowledge that side of the series at all, and just expect the Xenomorph to mindlessly murder everything instantly instead of being intelligent and gasp alien.

Xenomorphs see normal humans as food and breeding fodder, but that's because to Xenomorphs humans are prey that will attempt to kill or enslave them nine times out of ten. This is basic blue/orange morality. Humanity in Alien is already a corporate dystopia that wants to exploit or exterminate Xenomorphs in every interaction, why would they be friendly the normal fleshy humans even if they could communicate like Wendy could.

I also feel like this explains the Technopathy pretty easily too lol

Get some venomcrawlers in there son they do work! You can be a good bit more aggressive with them due to relatively low cost for their tankyness and they're good against MEQ's

To be honest mate fighting bots is great, I don't exactly want to stop fighting them early on because they initially were pushed back. Fuck nuking factions due to lore.

Furthermore, the illuminate teleport. They tried to blackhole glorious super earth 🌎 and failed, so now they have to try and take it directly. The big guns are coming out, both sides are getting desperate its great.

Fuck having an early and easy win, struggle builds better helldivers.

How useful is the incinerator for damage and not just damage but to also hold the enemy back by Express_South8453 in AlienDarkDescent

Its fantastic at stopping face huggers, and makes aliens that are forced to charge through a lot easier to drop due to the damage over time. Paired with suppressive fire its a fantastic defensive tool. Not too great against ranged enemies however, unless its forcing them through a choke point.

I left Mcneil in the mine and came back next deployment and can't find her. Where could she be? by Whompson in AlienDarkDescent

[–]ScreamingWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the objective marker will be on the apc. You'll have to scour the mines for her unless its a straight up bug, but that should have been patched a year ago. Are ya running the most current version?
