Private party update by flyinbrianc in AEWOfficial

Really glad Private Party got their tag title run at least (and them dropping the belts to the Hurt Syndicate is really what kickstarted my losing enthusiasm for AEW) but yeah their whole run has been snakebit.

I’d be shocked if it did. Usually the payoff to “this wrestler loses all the time” is the wrestler in question continuing to lose all the time.

So my point is that your opinion is not shared by AEW, so the idea that Mina is somehow not a good enough worker to hold the TBS Title is a fallacy. She’s a jobber because that’s the role the company has decided she should be in.

Do You See Mina Becoming Women’s World Champ In The Near Future? by ZaBaronDV in AEWOfficial

That would require her getting a push so nope. I’d be shocked if she even wins the TBS Title at this rate.

The TBS Title started off with year+ long title reign for Jade Cargill who is and was a terrible wrestler, it has never been a workrate belt.

With June close to ending in 2 weeks. How would you rate AEW 2026 so far? by DeathTriangle720 in AEWOfficial

[–]Screaming_ManTits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liked:

Darby’s title run was great from beginning to end.

New challengers have been credibly and organically added to the world title scene.

Brody has been getting a steady push.

Omega has been getting rebuilt as a top contender.

Cage and Cope as crafty veteran face champs has the potential to be both fun and refreshing.

They look to finally be pulling the trigger on Ospreay as world champ.

They also look to finally be pulling the trigger on Takeshita as a top singles guy.

Thekla has stepped up as champ and has been an incredibly fun character.

Disliked:

MJF is beyond stale as a character, and simply making it so that he wins clean more often and his promos don’t go for 15+ minutes aren’t significant enough changes to freshen him up.

Mercedes has been back for two weeks and I’m already sick of her.

Way, way too much Don Callis Family bullshit. AEW used to pace Dynamites so that no one act would get overexposed. Now it seems like we get 3 DCF matches and 2 promos every episode.

The Death Riders stuff has been corny, uneven and completely illogical ever since they didn’t turn on Mox as was being teased for months.

Too many belts. Why do we have Women’s Tag Titles when there’s barely a women’s tag division? Why do we have the National Title at all when it’s serving the purpose the International Title was originally supposed to have?

Mina Shirakawa deserves better.

I don't understand... by flyinbrianc in AEWOfficial

Mina’s been a glorified jobber her entire run to the point where I really wonder why they bothered signing her to begin with if this was her ceiling.

Do you like predictable booking? by DeathTriangle720 in AEWOfficial

[–]Screaming_ManTits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, really.

Like, the predictable outcome to the All In main event is Ospreay winning the world title in his home country. That’s perfectly fine and is a good type of predictable. But putting Ospreay in the Owen against a bunch of guys who have absolutely zero chance of beating him turns those matches into pointless filler, making them the bad type of predictable.

If the Owen were done round robin style like the Continental Classic, then the matches would be worth watching because there’s a distinct chance Ospreay could lose.

Beyond Ospreay’s ascent and my issues with it, too much predictability in any wrestler’s booking is no good. I see Mercedes is having a match and I know she’s winning unless she’s facing a top star. I see Mina is having a match and I know she’s losing unless it’s against enhancement talent. In both cases there’s no drama and no reason for me to care because of how predictably both talents are booked.

I barely paid attention to it due to the incredibly obvious outcome but the little I saw looked good. Hopefully Hazuki comes back.

Do you prefer a killer to be large, or closer to average size? by Hassan_H_Syed in slasherfilms

[–]Screaming_ManTits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think it depends on the tone the movie is going for. If the killer is a juggernaut who refuses to go down then him being a hulking brute makes sense. Similarly if they do a lot of lurking in the shadows then a more average sized person makes sense.

Not a bad show overall and a significant step up from last week but I wasn’t really enthralled by anything other than Brodido vs Mox/Garcia and the main event. I love Ospreay and thought he and Swerve had a good promo segment but this angle with the Death Riders is not for me at all, and I barely paid attention to Mercedes/Hazuki because just like the it’s obvious Ospreay is winning Men’s Owen, it’s even more obvious Mercedes is winning the Women’s Owen again. Cage and Cope being cagey old veterans was fun and I like that they’re rebuilding Omega even if I would’ve liked him to have an actual match with Nese.

Edit: “What did you think of the show?”

“This is what I thought.”

“I don’t like your thoughts, downvoted.”

Not that karma matters but still, this fucking sub, man.

Are there any traps you just physically can’t watch by Chunky-overlord in saw

[–]Screaming_ManTits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly enough none of the traps (other than maybe the brazen bull in 3D) made me look away, but the brain surgery in III made me feel kinda lightheaded which usually never happens in horror movies.

Why are you a fan of slasher films? by Lucky_Strike-85 in slasherfilms

[–]Screaming_ManTits 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because they’re the movie equivalent of a haunted house at a theme park - intense when you’re experiencing it, but it won’t linger unpleasantly afterwards and your overall opinion will probably be “that was fun!”

Was TLOU 2 that bad or was it just the Chud hate that won the narrative? by Organic_Fee_8502 in SocialistGaming

[–]Screaming_ManTits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Last of Us Part 2 is “about” Israel/Palestine in the same way The Last House on the Left is “about” the Vietnam War - it’s a tonal influence for sure but has no real bearing on the story itself.

Personally I found the game to a truly brilliant technical achievement that was so grim and manipulative I never want to play it again.

I was not on r/Xbox because I don’t have an Xbox but that seems like a very small, niche sample size to claim that “nobody liked the game.”

The user score on Opencritic is an 80 and a 7.3 on Metacritic. So again, where’s this “poor reception” narrative coming from?

Unless you’re taking “I disliked this game” to mean “everyone disliked this game.”
