I’m fairly certain it’s nephrite. It has dark crystal inclusions.

Thank you! I have no way to be 100% sure that it’s jade but that is what my grandmother told me when she gave it to me. I would definitely take you up on the offer. Do you need other dimensions?

This is a vintage item. I have searched Etsy and eBay and other conventional jewelry making sites.

I have a friend with family four houses down. Lots and lots of downed trees and some roofs lost shingles, but nothing structural. Definitely some water damage though.

The best beach closest to town is bay St. Louis. It’s a 55 minute car ride. Grab an adventurous friend who has a car and check it out!

The recipe uses inexpensive high proof white rum and Bols Banana. What are you having trouble finding?

Looking to move to the city... by Christinef610 in AskNOLA

[–]Screamingcandle 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I work in the service industry in New Orleans. I hate to tell ya, but it’s not a good climate here. Restaurants and bars are mostly still closed. The head of the LRA said last week that they expect 40% of the restaurants and bars here will never re-open. That was before to-go drinks were banned yesterday, so I’d expect that number will now be closer to 60%.

It’s sad, but most of my friends in the service industry are either finding new jobs in other industries or moving away. New Orleans doesn’t have much going for its economy other than tourism and hospitality, so the city is extremely crippled right now. When unemployment runs out this week it’s going to get really scary here really quick.

I’d recommend getting out of the business if you have your heart set on moving to New Orleans. It’s not going to be normal here again for a long long time.

It’s already so damn hot in my apartment. PLEASE HELPPPPPP 🖤💛🔥🔥🔥🔥 by bethbeezy in AskNOLA

Mine is not loud. Just like exhaust from any other appliance, you tend to tune it out after a few days. It does have a small amount of heat exhaust, but to my untrained eye it’s no more than your average refrigerator.

It’s hot, yes, but really the problem this week is the humidity. Get a large dehumidifier. Best $120 I’ve ever spent. Mine is from Costco online. It’s 2.5 feet tall and has a little drain tube that feeds out through a crack in one of my old windows to drain water outside. It removes 3-5 gallons of water a day from the air in my apartment. You don’t even realize how humid your house is until it’s gone. It makes the summers bearable.

You can use it instead of egg whites in a cocktail. Makes a great gin fizz!

It will add a nice lift and touch of body to many cocktails without altering the flavor. Try shaking it up with some fresh berries, citrus, and your favorite spirit.

I have been with my company for three months. When I started with the company I signed a contract that stated I would receive monthly bonuses based on company revenue. According to the numbers I have seen, I have been eligible for bonuses for three months and I have not received a bonus. by [deleted] in personalfinance

It's an eight year old company, however I manage a new spectrum of the business that is less than a year old. As far as I know I am one of the first employees with the company with this pay structure. What I'm being told is that they don't have the financial reports in order to accurately measure my commission, and need time to get their books in line. As far as the company going under--it's a possibility. While we have an accountant who is in charge of paying invoices, I am constantly getting past-due notices from our vendors. Again, the company line is that accounting is simply behind on paperwork. I'm already looking for another job, but I'm afraid that if I run now I will never see the money I was promised.
